5.0 out of 5 stars Bargain Sept. 6 2012
By Jackson Spines TOP 500 REVIEWER
Format:Hardcover
This book offers 6 different stories. If you were going to buy these 6 stories in individual books it would cost a lot more than the cost of this compilation which makes this book such a great bargain. Also, some of these stories are really hard to find individually now. I found my copy of this at my local Walmart for a little cheaper than it's listed here for. Very cheap price for this many stories all in one convenient book. Great for kids and adults alike!

4.0 out of 5 stars Compared to the Big Blue Book April 10 2010
By Noname - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I have "The Big Green Book of Beginner Books" and The BIG Blue Book of Beginner Books. The stories in both books are easy for beginning readers; but the stories in the blue book have full plots and are more interesting. The green book stories are sillier and nonsensical. Dr. Seuss has written much better stories than these.

My daughter says she likes both books equally well. She especially enjoys searching for all the silly objects in "Wacky Wednesday." I will give her opinion more weight in the star rating. After all, it is a children's book and it does what I want, which is motivate her to read. I personally would have given it 3 stars.

If you are trying to decide between the blue book or the green book, I'd recommend the blue book.

This color compendium of some six Dr. Seuss beginner books features GREAT DAY FOR UP, WOULD YOU RATHER BE A BULLFROG?, WACKY WEDNESDAY and others, with complete text and art and original illustrations. This compliments CAT IN THE CAT and other readers for ages 5-8 and packages six Suess classics under one cover. A lovely gift for any beginning reader.
5.0 out of 5 stars The Big Breen Book of Beginner Books is a hit! July 20 2014
By Padap1113 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
This is the 2nd Beginner Book with multiple stories that I have bought for my grand daughter. We like the Dr Suess books and they are good reading for a child just beginning to read, It is nice because all the books are together and She can just choose which she wants to read, All children when they are learning to read need books that are the correct level and these are great to read to a child that isn't quite ready to read and then they can just move into reading them themselves. I love the book, my daughter loves the book, my grand daughter loves the book AND my grandson also loved to have the book read to him. My grand daughter even reads to her little brother at times. Nice bonding time for them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Dr. Seuss...The Big Green Book of Beginner Books... Feb. 5 2010
By Palonie - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover|Verified Purchase
I'm thrilled to have all these books in one book and to have all the pictures the original books had makes it not only a lot less money but more convenient to store on the book shelf - I hadn't seen the Duck Feet book since my nephew memorized it when he was small and now he is 47 years old so it was even more of a thrill to see it in this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A fabulous read for young children Dec 3 2009
By Kat - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I saw this book in a store and bought it with my 5 year old grandson in mind. He loves the fact that it is a thick book, just like grandma's. He even put in a bookmark like mine to hold his place after he reads the stories. It is easy to read and unlike some of the Dr. Seuss books, makes a lot of sense in the story lines. He loves this book and can't wait to come to my house and read with his grandma. I just ordered the Big Blue book for him for Christmas. I highly recommend this book.
