1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of time and money Jun 13 2003
By A Customer
Format:Mass Market Paperback
This is one of those rare books that you wish you could get your money back for, and sue the author for mental anguish and compensation for time lost. Like one reviewer stated, the term 'large breasts' is on almost every page. You want to slap Rachel for her blind stupidity....this is an overprotective mother (with large breasts!) who is more than willing to subject her kids to danger from this terrifying haunt, believing that love will save the day. Jack isn't much better, all he can think of is Rachel's large breasts and the next time he can look at them. In one scene the police are at the house investigating a death, and Jack spends the entire time worrying about whether or not he and Rachel will be able to have sex that night. Sheesh! Get your priorities straight. Yet I kept plodding forward to find out what makes this haunt different, hoping that it's something good. Wrong! The big secret is a let down and so stupid that you want to kick yourself for ever buying this book.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible, one of the worst books I've ever read May 29 2003
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I bought this waste of paper a month ago and I'm only halfway through it. It just keeps getting worse, I've made it a game now to see just how awful it can get by the end. The character Rachel is about the stupidest woman I've ever read about. If you've read this, you'll know what I mean. And why do writers (this isn't the only author guilty of this) think that annoyingly precocious 8-10 year olds make good characters? Nick is 8 and reading philosophy books and supposedly understanding them! Give me a kid that adores Spiderman comics and Hot Wheels instead of detestably bright brats. Don't waste your money on this book, none of the characters are likable, the plot is laughably bizarre, and it's badly written. If the rest of Williamson's books are like this I suggest he go back to 10th grade creative writing class.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too bad there aren't 0 stars! April 20 2000
Format:Mass Market Paperback
I am a fan of good horror. I have read alot of horror...this book is not horror. This novel is an excuse to throw the words " large breasts" on every page. Don't get me wrong...I think a well written sex scene as pertains to the story is great...but this was the most juvenile, stupid, boring...unscariest (is that a word?..if not it should be)novel I have read in a long time! Don't waste your money, time, eyesight, etc...(you get the point) on this mess of a book.
