Product Description

From the secret wisdom of Kabbalah, the Runes, and Numerology--an unprecedented guide to unlocking the hidden power of your name.

Your name is not only your calling card, it also may determine how your life will unfold. Mystics have studied the energies associated with names for centuries, but The Hidden Truth of Your Name is the first book to synthesize their fascinating findings into one compelling resource--offering in-depth profiles of 750 American names. Created by a team of linguistic experts and specialists, this beguiling reference guides you through the illuminating intricacies of three ancient systems of divination--and shows you how to apply them to create a subtly nuanced portrait of any name you choose.

- KABBALAH--This ancient Hebrew system of letter-and-number analysis helps you discover what the mathematics of your name adds up to in terms of work, relationships, and spiritual energies.

- THE RUNES--The letters of this old northern European alphabet, for centuries an honored source of religious and magical values, open surprising windows to self-discovery and change.

- NUMEROLOGY--The key numbers of your name contain potent truths about the positive and negative aspects of your true nature--and your destiny.

Complete with the principle colors, gemstones, and herbs that harmonize with each name, this delightfully accessible book at last gives you the means to uncover the hidden truth and unique traits of your name.

5.0 out of 5 stars ENJOYABLE, INFORMATIVE AND ACCURATE., Nov 27 2002
This review is from: The Hidden Truth of Your Name: A Complete Guide to First Names and What They Say About the Real You (Paperback)
SORRY, FOLKS, I GOOFED! THIS REVIEW REFERS TO THE BOOK ENTITLED "THE POWER OF BIRTHDAYS STARS AND NUMBERS" by Saffi Crawford and Geraldine Sullivan. Because my friends love a book I own entitled THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF BIRTHDAYS, as a gift, I was given this "companion piece". Very articulate and informative, it gives certain information which is valuable and not always included in the previous book (which is definitely a keeper). Written from an original viewpoint and in a different context, this book shows each birthday's strength via the number of stars under the "fixed star" section, our "secret selves", numerological influences, "love & relationships" and people who are fortunate and not so fortunate for every individual in the "Your Someone Special" section. I think it's important not to take this info too literally or seriously as to become a fanatical "New Age freak", tho I must admit, the insight I've discovered and utilised from the better astrology/numerology books which are available on the market have been invaluable, fun and informative tools to better know myself and others with better clarity.

3.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't find my name in here!, Oct 17 2003

Okay, I couldn't find my name in here, and there wasn't any other alternatives. So, if your name is Miles - or something close to that, don't expect anything. The accuracy was disappointing for the most part. I have to believe that these profiles fit for a lot of people, but I would put a little caption at the bottom of the screen saying, "for entertainment purposes only" just for those with my such luck. It is a pretty fun entertainment idea if you know some people who aren't ADHD.

5.0 out of 5 stars A different kind of baby name book..., July 18 2002
By
Donna Eberly (Saraland, AL USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Hidden Truth of Your Name: A Complete Guide to First Names and What They Say About the Real You (Paperback)
My friends and I stumbled over this book at a bookstore. After poring over it for an hour, we decided we had to have it for our library (we're all librarians.)

When the book arrived, everyone made copies of names because they were so on-target for personality traits, etc. It was actually kind of eerie. Also, we found name roots for more unusual names and alternate spellings, etc. to be pretty comprehensive.

I plan on using this book to complement traditional baby-name books. I think it would be a great gift for parents-to-be, and it is a wonderful party-coffee table book.
