Well-written, Thoughtful, Inspiring,
This review is from: The Holy Wild: Trusting in the Character of God (Paperback)
Mark's writing is exceptional in this book. He describes the character of God and helps us to discover how we can completely rest and trust in our God. The book is easy reading; his writing is a joy to read with many stories and a wonderful way with words that is almost poetic. Yet the content is very thought-provoking and filled with a depth that touched and inspired me. I loved this book; I would highly recommend it if you want to be spiritually uplifted and drawn closer to God.

The Holy Wild is a fabulous book!,

This review is from: The Holy Wild (Hardcover)
Mark Buchanan's third book is, in my estimation the best yet. Tapping into a similar theme from his first book, Your God is Too Safe, Mark discusses the real character of God - the dangerous, even perilous, but good God. Moving the reader away from the notion of a God who resembles a nit-picky, small-minded bean-counter or a permissive, sleepy grandfather who keeps his distance, Buchanan reveals a God that is both dangerous and GOOD!How we see the world around us is largely shaped by how we view God. In an unexpected way, this book can literally alter how you view the world and the God who runs it!

Mark is a good and faithful servant,

This review is from: The Holy Wild (Hardcover)
You cannot write or appreciate what Mark as written unless you have lived it. Pharisees read and don't comprehend the mercy of God and His goodness because they live in the theologian's world of the Institutional Church. Mark touches on the word 'theology' several times and it hit a cord, although I found Mark to be a little too polite. I forgive you Mark for your Canadian politeness. I recommend this book very highy to all who are broken and contrite in spirit and are looking for a cup of water. I have been refreshed. Thank you Lord for Mark's faithfulness and transparency.
