Book Description
You can't make sense and order out of your day unless you first make sense of your life. This is the crux of The 25-Hour Woman ®. Many people struggle with the tension they feel between all the things they have to do, or even want to do, and the limited time they have in which to do them. And, much of the time they end up living according to pressures rather than priorities. In The 25-Hour Woman ®, Sybil Stanton asks the questions:
* Are the things you're doing now fulfilling your purpose in life?
* Is your endless to-do list really necessary?
* Is there a way off this treadmill of activity that can help you function more happily and effectively?
With an appealing combination of wit and common sense, this author takes her readers through the steps of life planning, showing how to:
* Do less and get more done
* Avoid feeling victimized by conflicting demands
* Relax without feeling guilty
* Be better disciplined yet more flexible
* Say "no" to doing too much
* Enjoy rather than endure the process of life
The 25-Hour Woman ® provides a framework for looking at who you are, how you uniquely operate, and what you want out of life, and then helps you set realistic expectations in keeping with your objectives. It shows you how to establish one aim before pursuing countless activities.
The 25-Hour Woman ® will liberate you off the treadmill and into a calm and productive pace of living.
From the Author
When I wrote The 25-Hour Woman ®, the time-management market predominantly targeted men in a nine-to-five office setting, and seemed to disregard the bigger picture of their personal life. In fact, I coined the concept of "life management" for my seminars, and wrongly assumed only overextended women like myself needed help in this area. My consulting and training business grew, and soon attracted professional men whose wives and female colleagues were already benefiting from this integrated way of thinking about managing time.
The idea of life management has since been widely embraced and expounded on. Yet I still receive letters from appreciative readers who say that The 25-Hour Woman ® is the most balanced, realistic, practical, user-friendly, and even entertaining book on this topic. In fact, the majority of early responses inspired the renaming of my company to the feeling of freedom people most commonly reported: Guilt-free Time Management ®.
Stress has become a status symbol in our nation, a new opium of the masses. It's fashionable to be in the fast lane-and to fuss about it! However, we don't have to be stuck there, a victim of circumstances. We can take control of our lives. There will always be more to do than time in which to do it. But you can actually learn to schedule less and achieve more. Success is a function, not of doing everything, but doing the most important things. The 25-Hour Woman ® will show you how to do that.
