Book Description

Nov 5 2004

Following the runaway success of The Money Book, author, financial advisor, and newly minted spokesperson for the younger set seeking security, Kevin Cork is back with another must-read effort. The Investment Book is an informative and irreverent look at the world of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and investing. Like The Money Book, The Investment Book is geared toward investors under the age of 40?men and women just starting their careers, families and investment portfolios. In-depth knowledge of foreign markets, RRSP options and eco-funds is not required. Nor is $40,000 of disposable income. In his trademark witty style, Cork walks the reader through the process of setting up and then maintaining an investment portfolio. Beginning with an overview of various investment options, Cork goes on to explain downto-earth strategies for combining these options into a personalized portfolio that will directly serve the reader?s diverse (and possibly frivolous!) needs and goals. For readers using advisors to put their portfolios together, The Investment Book provides the information needed to ask the right questions and reasonably judge the answers. For those just beginning their financial journey, or for more experienced investors looking for a fresh approach, The Investment Book is bound to offer a good return.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow !! A Simple yet Witty Look at Investing Jan 27 2005
If you have any questions about getting to retirement wealthy in Canada this book is for you. Cork takes you through every possible investment avenue you could think of, well there are a few others but for the sake of legality we won't mention them, and he breaks them down so even the most none investment literate person can follow. His sense of humour throughout doesn't allow the topic to get stale or dry. I read this whole book once through in 4 hours and have read it many times more. I now have a solid portfolio starting and I only have this book and Kevin Cork to thank.
