Product Description

John "The Stranger" Brockman is back by popular demand!

It will take more than his fists and a colt .45 to beat these killers.

At twenty-one, Paul Brockman is the newest deputy U.S. marshal in his father's arsenal of lawmen. Bold and courageous, Paul proves to be every bit as skillful with a revolver as the chief U.S. marshal, John "The Stranger" Brockman.

Five ruthless outlaws escape Yuma Prison but are soon captured, and Paul must transport them back to Arizona in an iron wagon. During the hazardous journey, Paul encounters Lisa Martin, whose parents were murdered by renegade Indians. The lovely young woman desperately needs his help and Paul is just the deputy to deliver Lisa to her destination. Could she be the answer to his prayers for a wife?

But when the wagon comes under attack from Apaches, Paul is forced to think beyond his physical strength to get everyone out alive.

The story is not up to Lacy's best, it's ok but lacks the usual heart, material, and Biblical support, that's in most of his the other books.

1.0 out of 5 stars Major Disappointment, Jan 3 2011

I really wanted to read a good, Christian Western...this wasn't it! Yikes! It was so bad I struggled to get through three chapters before I had to put it away...in a garage sale box. The writing violates almost every rule and principle that guides good fiction writing. I am left still looking for that good, Christian Western I was seeking. I don't think I can bring myself to try another novel by this writer, although he (they) seem quite prolific.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing, as expected, Nov 16 2010
By W. A. McManus "homeschool helper" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Iron Wagon: A Novel (Paperback)
If you like feel good romances with no basis in reality, this is a book for you. True to form, the Lacys have written in the style of a pre-adolescent diary, including more inane details than one can imagine. If this were a movie, I would accuse the characters of over-acting. They were all too Christian, too spiritual, to good, too perfect, too . . . It is a nice book to take along when you must stand in line for hours. It is one you do not have to concentrate to read.
