About the Author
AL LACY is an evangelist and author of more than one hundred historical and Western novels, including the Journeys of the Stranger, Angel of Mercy, and Mail Order Bride series, with more than three million books in print. JOANNA LACY, Al's wife and longtime collaborator, is a retired nurse. The Lacys have been married for more than forty years and live in Florida.

The story is not up to Lacy's best, it's ok but lacks the usual heart, material, and Biblical support, that's in most of his the other books.

I really wanted to read a good, Christian Western...this wasn't it! Yikes! It was so bad I struggled to get through three chapters before I had to put it away...in a garage sale box. The writing violates almost every rule and principle that guides good fiction writing. I am left still looking for that good, Christian Western I was seeking. I don't think I can bring myself to try another novel by this writer, although he (they) seem quite prolific.

If you like feel good romances with no basis in reality, this is a book for you. True to form, the Lacys have written in the style of a pre-adolescent diary, including more inane details than one can imagine. If this were a movie, I would accuse the characters of over-acting. They were all too Christian, too spiritual, to good, too perfect, too . . . It is a nice book to take along when you must stand in line for hours. It is one you do not have to concentrate to read.
