I bought the DVD shortly before season 2 began & watched in a marathon of viewing. It was fantastic, well written, well acted, a very good remake & I don't usually watch remakes. I think that Enos is the best of the bunch on the show although Holder is interesting as well.

This is a wonderfully paced, tightly written drama. The acting is terrific. Anyone who enjoys a moody, suspenseful series will enjoy this, I'm sure. I understand it was filmed in Vancouver.

Imagine the movie "The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo being made into a miniseries" to meet Twin Peaks, and You have The Killing.It's dark, it's mysterious, and the more our Inspector Sarah Lund tries to resolve the crime, the more nasty and twisted it becomes. What makes it so distinctively diffrent from other miniseries of the theme: It does not use any of the formulas we have become accustomed to. You will have be able to predict what is going to happen next. When you believe you have identyfied a perpetrator, you will be in for a surprise, that will slap you in the face. Our female inspector makes some of those mistakes too, but not that her instincts are wrong, it's rather that she approached the problem from the wrong angle. Sometime she does that with dire consequences. When do you see that in other Cop shows ? Here, you have a show that will take you on a rollercoaster ride, from certainties to deep doubts and when triumph arrives, it does not so with a compleate solution. When her superiors want to close the case, Sarah knows, something is missing here. Sarah will go on relentlessly, even when she has to make enemies with her superiors and some polititians that are involved. I watched the danish version "Forbrydelson" season 1 and season 2. I hope HBO will also remake the 2nd.Season. Because the second season is even more powerful and suspensefull. Season 2 of Forbrydelson really shook me. If subtitles don't bother you, watch the danish version too. The american version is good, but Forbrydelson, where it's based on, is better. FORBRYDELSON, THE KILLING II / FORBRYDELSEN II
