Review

"Dan and Catherine serve up ten powerful laws that, if followed, will immediately enhance your professional and personal life." -- Jack Canfield, coauthor of bestselling book series Chicken Soup for the Soul

Book Description

Compared to Stephen Covey and Tony Robbins as a visionary thinker, Dan Sullivan brings practical, powerful new approaches to success in life and business. "The Laws of Lifetime Growth outlines ten "laws" that give readers an internal framework for taking charge of their future. All it takes to use each of these laws is a slight shift in thinking, which anyone -- regardless of age, environment, or stage in life -- can instantly accomplish. Based on Sullivan's years of coaching in which he discovered what motivates people and unlocks their greatest abilities, "The Laws of Lifetime Growth explains how to use such timeless wisdom as "Always make your confidence greater than your comfort" and "Always make your contribution bigger than your reward." Sullivan's laws, startling in their simplicity, show readers how to stay focused and firm so that they can continually grow in all areas of life.

5.0 out of 5 stars The one thing I don't do, Mar 7 2006

This review is from: The Laws of Lifetime Growth: Always Make Your Future Bigger Than Your Past (Hardcover)
The one thing I don't ever do is read self-help books or "Change your life" books. You know, ones such as this one. I'm almost ALWAYS reading some bestseller or newspaper pick ("Da Vinci" code comes to mind, or the incredible "Katzenjammer" by Jackson McCrae), so I just don't do it--read this sort of thing. But, something told me to get this. I don't know what it was, but I found myself buying it and . . . well, I loved it! Basically it states that one of the simplest ways to break free of the complexity in our ever-changing and fast-paced world is to have guiding principals that are always true. Enter this book. This book opened a deep inner inquiry into a contemplated career move and made me ask some deep and personal questinons. Ethics. Morality. Growth. It's all good stuff.

There are thousands of published books on the market dealing with lifetime coaching and betterment.

The vast majority of them are complicated, theoretical and boring.

Finally, a book that gets it right!

Dan Sullivan's straight forward and analytical approach are refereshing and his experience with his clientele makes him more than just another theoretician.

This is a straight forward, insightful and totally useful read and a must for anyone who needs to step back and consider how to be the best they can.

Move over Mr. Covey!

5.0 out of 5 stars Read it again!, Mar 9 2006

I read this book when it first came out, and have already started to read it again. The simple "laws" actually take a bit of effort to incorporate into our daily life- but they summarize what's really important quite well.

Being generally optimistic, and familiar with the concepts of the Strategic Coach program, I was happy to see another "Knowledge Product" that I could share with people without having to give them an "explanation". People can interpret the messages on their own without explanation- for the betterment of themselves, due to the service and appreciation of others.

The WHere do I start? section at the end of each chapters suggests some "action" steps to be able to incorporate the "laws" into your life immediately- another way to make "progress" and impact right away.

I will definitely be sharing the "laws" with my team and my family. Thanks for a great resource!
