The League: Season 1 [Blu-ray]

Regardless of the premise of the show, fantasy football, this comedy is a surprising gem not well known to the general public. well that needs to change! it doesn't matter if you hate football this show is too funny. what makes the show funny is the fact that 80% of the lines are improvised and are extremely quick and witty. this show is all about the dialogue with me, and the comedic timing-it's incredible. I was instantly hooked and I can assure you that not only do i know pretty much nothing about football, but i'd like to keep it that way.

The writers brilliantly balance small amounts of football references(nothing the average person wouldn't get) and hilarious character interactions.....put it this way, the conversation may start out about something that happened in a game, but it wil quickly evolve into a hilarious inslut contest over who can make fun of a friend more......the plot lines that happen over some episodes are sometimes so random and shocking your left laughing well into the next scenes! with this show well into the 2nd season by the date of this review i can say they have definitely hit their stride along time ago, and every episode is funnier then the next......i can't believe more people haven't heard of this show-I know all my friends have been hooked

i dont know why i didn't say this first but, Jon Lajoie is in this show and his character is too much sometimes! he even gets in a song in every now and then! What makes this DVD a must buy though is the features, with a show this improvised you know the out takes, bloopers and extended cuts are going to be too funny! they even dedicated a whole segment of alternate takes from one of the more improvisational actors, Nick Kroll.....i could watch the features on this DVD over and over again.....i can bet this show will be back for a 3rd season, i cant wait!

Hilarious show. A show which is 25% fantasy football and 75% witty banter and friends showing competition and love for football. As a avid football I find that I can really relate. With all the jokes and laughs you get outside the actual football talk, it makes this show something anyone can relate to.

I know absolutely NOTHING about NFL football players and I love this show. Very funny and witty. I've watched it a billion times now and i have to replace the blu-ray because i wore it out. Kevin is my favorite character on this show...i first started watching it because i was a Jon Lajoie fan but I now like Kevin's character the most...great show, i hope it stays on for a long time to come.
