Product Description

A Link to the Future

One of the most storied franchises in history soars to new heights. The Legend of Zelda™: Skyward Sword shakes up the tried-and-true adventure game formula and marks a turning point for the franchise. The introduction of full motion controls to the series enabled by Wii MotionPlus™ technology enhances player movements while offering the most intuitive play control of any game in the series to date.

FEATURES:

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword boasts the most realistic sword combat of any game to date, turning every encounter into a challenge of both brains and brawn. Wii MotionPlus technology accurately translates the angle of every sword slice, effectively putting Link's blade in the player's hand. Analyzing enemy attack and defense tendencies and counteracting with precise swings of the sword provide a satisfying experience that blends puzzle-solving with a new and distinctly unique combat system.

Explore a massive, multilayered world that seamlessly blends soaring exploration in a sea of clouds with intense ground-based adventuring that blurs the line between the main world and traditional Zelda dungeons. Link™ soars through the skies on the back of a noble bird and dives beneath the clouds to the continent below in an epic quest that lays the foundation for the events in the critically acclaimed The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Prepare for intense puzzle-solving as only The Legend of Zelda games can deliver. Exploration of the forests, volcanoes and deserts requires players to think on their feet as they solve puzzles, overcome obstacles and escape deadly traps. Once they find their way to each dungeon, they are confronted by even more puzzles guarded by fiendish enemies.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword redefines the traditional Zelda framework and introduces an arsenal of items, upgrades and rewards unlike any game in the franchise to date. The adventure guides players into, out of and back to dungeons and areas they've already completed. Along the way, Link gathers a massive inventory of peculiar items and resources that can be used to upgrade many of his weapons and equipment.

Every copy in the initial production of the game will come packaged with a special music CD featuring orchestral arrangements of select songs performed at The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony Concert.

The delivery arrived as indicated. Once I opened the package to view the game I noticed something odd on the cover that was definitely not indicated in my purchase from GameFunk. The game is an official product of Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, and Singapour. Living in Canada I was nervous that this would affect me even being able to play the game. However, luckily all the subtitles are in English and seeing as no one in Zelda really talks this hasn't turn out to be a problem, yet. I'm satisfied with the purchase but slightly unhappy that this whole 'Product of Malaysia' thing wasn't detailed by GameFunk.

I have played 'Legend of Zelda' games for little over 12 years. I started with 'The Ocarina of Time', and was hooked, playing 'The Wind Waker' about a year or so later. I have loved the series for its mythology, characters, and visual styles. The development teams truly push themselves to elevate these video games to the point where they are works of art. And what do I think of 'Skyward Sword'?

It's possibly the best one I have ever played.

(Readers note: I have not played 'A Link to the Past', or some other seminal games in the series such as 'Majora's Mask', 'The Legend of Zelda', etc. Please take that into account, as I know that 'A Link to the Past' is often regarded as the greatest alongside 'The Ocarina of Time'.)

What makes this one better than 'The Ocarina of Time' and other timeless entries in the series? Its visuals, its story, and its characters. The developers have beautifully created 'Skyward Sword' in a style similar to Cezanne and other Impressionists, and the effect is breathtaking. I think this is the way that I have always seen the series, in my mind's eye. Nothing quite replaces the experience of 'The Ocarina of Time', but I think the visuals of 'Skyward Sword' certainly surpass that game (taking into account the experience I had playing each game when they were new for me).

The story is the one I have waited for, and answered many of my questions. I have always asked myself: why does some man named Ganondorf stalk Zelda? Why does Link always rush to save her? The series has gradually given its own reasons over the years, pulling back a little with each game to reveal more of the canvas.

I love this series bought it because of it rarity in Canada since its 2 years old I was shocked to learn when I opened it that the copy from gamefunk was from Singapore Malaysia Saudi Arabia UAE region and that it worked on my NTSC-US Wii u console according to what I read about version differences is that it has grammatical changes in some text but the game still is genuine just an import distributed by gamefunk if you still want to play the latest Zelda game on the console I tell you it is still worth it on a positive note the game comes unopened with game manual and is now out of print in NA

Ordered from Shopville.ca, came sealed as promised but as others have reported its the import from Saudi Arabia, was hoping for the domestic NA version. Anyway, no major complaints as it works great on my Wii U and its in English by default.

It would be in the top 3 for me, although it would be third place after Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. Skyward is beautiful, amazing graphics and epic battles. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
