Product Description

About the Author

Anna-Marie Ferguson, a Scorpio, was born November 10, 1966, in the heart of the New Forest, Hampshire, England. When she was ten years old her family emigrated to rural Alberta, Canada. Anna returned to England in 1982 to undergo training in graphic design. She eventually returned to Alberta where she continued a career in design, devoting her spare time to developing her illustrating skills, ably assisted by her three cats.Anna's fascination with Celtic legends and the Tarot began when she was a child in England. The atmosphere of the New Forest was steeped in history, and faithful readings of the legends cultivated an appreciation of "the romantic" in Anna. Such formative influences have inspired Anna to keep this bygone age alive through her art.

What a beautiful tarot deck. The art work is cheerful and perfect for those that the gloomy or scarey looking decks don't appeal too. I ended up ordering another deck because the cards from shuffling split, the corners tore and the colour started to wear away with use. I've had other decks and they went through more use and this never happened to them. The low rating is for the flimsy quality, if I could give 5 stars for art work I would.

The artwork very beautifully and purely depicts the meanings of the cards. There is far more genuine emotion and intriguing personality expressed in this deck than most. The book is fascinating and can be enjoyed even if you aren't interested in tarot lore, if you're a person who enjoys reading legends and lore like I do. I've been reading the book slowly to take in all of the amazing details because the research and care that the author has put into this work deserves it.

The paper the cards are printed on is thin. Other reviewers are very right about that most definitely. I knew that ahead, it's so consistently stated by others on Amazon, so I got this deck for display purposes. I'll be putting a few cards at a time on miniature wooden easels.

I knocked off one star for the paper quality because this is such a fantastic package and it would be far more respectful and right if the publisher decided to produce this deck again with more durable paper.

This is a beautiful Tarot deck, something brand new for me to own. While I have used Sacred Path Cards (Jamie Sams) and The Green Man Tree Oracle (John Matthews & Will Worthington) for years I decided to purchase a Tarot deck. After much consideration and following helpful advice I chose the Llewellyn Tarot for several reasons:
(1) Anna-Marie Ferguson's watercolour art is beautiful, colourful, and accessible for a beginner to Tarot;
(2) the Guide book explains the legendary figures of medieval Wales in very good detail;
(3) her descriptions of the otherworldly priestesses, maidens, warriors and magicians are told almost as story, bringing them alive;
(4) While her descriptions of the Tarot's major and minor arcanas are brief I feel that this allows the beginner to explore the deck without overwhelming the beginner.
I look forward to years of using this new deck, along with my other favourites!

This deck is really beautiful. The art work is fabulous. If you love water colour then this is the deck to buy. I am so drawn to it and the reading I get with it is great. The cards have the feel of romance especially the lovers card. One of my absolute favourites.

Mme.
