4.0 out of 5 stars A book close to my heart, May 11 2012
By Richard Capwell - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Lost Princess of Oz (Paperback)
Aside from "The Wizard of Oz," this was the first "Oz Book" I read. I found it in the Mission Viejo, California library in 1973 and quickly hunted for the remainder of Baum's "other" Oz stories. "The Lost Princess" is one of Baum's better (but not best) books; the plot is tight, and he brings in a whole cast of favorite characters. I remember finding it odd, when I first read it, that Toto can talk but realized quickly that of course he can -- all animals in Oz can talk.
