This review is from: The Lost Treasures of Baja California (Hardcover)
Having just visited Loreto BCS where the very first mission was erected, I read this book in hope of gaining further historical insights about the colonilzation of Baja California. I was hoping it would tell me why missions were built where they were built, what mission life was like, and how if affected the native population.
This book instead is merely a narrative of the events that took place.
Some historical facts about funding and support from the Spanish government is included.
Good reading but I was left unsatisfied.
