5.0 out of 5 stars A Second Taste of Bizarro, Aug 10 2011

One thing I really like about "The Magazine of Bizarro Fiction" is that for less than the price of a Bizarro novella, you get a full novella and several pieces of great short fiction and nonfiction. You get a big bang for your buck. In this issue, the featured novella is a surreal work by Kevin Donihe about a travelling salesman. The short stories range from the dark and disturbing, to the fun and silly. I particularly enjoyed the stories "Blimpman" by Mykle Hansen, "Simple Machines" by Carlton Mellick III, and "Morphia" by Vincent Sakowski. The nonfiction pieces include an author spotlight on Carlton Mellick III and the history of Eraserhead Press. I highly recommend this sampling of the world of Bizarro.

4.0 out of 5 stars A nice issue, Jun 20 2011

A nice collection of stories, comics, book reviews, and articles. I enjoyed some stories (Hansen & Mellick) more than others. Overall this issue is pretty good. I felt the articles and reviews were honest and well written and it was nice to get a history of Eraserhead Press (and by extension the bizarro genre), but I could do without the comics.
