Product Description

This is the most up-to-date, comprehensive guide to the study of UFOs and extraterrestrial contact in print today. With more than 5,000 entries, revealing photographs, diagrams, and commentary of experts in the field, The UFO Magazine UFO Encyclopedia draws from a database of seventeen years' worth of articles, opinion, and research on such diverse subjects as:

• Alien encounters, abductions, and eyewitness accounts

• Theories of time and space travel

• Psychokinesis, astral projection, and teleportation

• Evidence of extraterrestrial presence on Earth, past and present

• The possibilities of antigravity propulsion and interstellar travel

• The new science of cloning, and the now-infamous Raelian cult

And much more!

Whether you consider yourself a hard-line skeptic or a true believer, or are simply fascinated by the existence of otherworldly visitors, this authoritative volume will prove to be an essential reference work for anyone wanting to learn about the still-controversial world of UFO and extraterrestrial investigations.

5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely fun, but don't take too seriously!, Feb 28 2004

This review is from: The UFO Magazine UFO Encyclopedia: The Most Compreshensive Single-Volume UFO Reference in Print (Paperback)
I agree with the blurb on the front calling this the most comprehensive reference on UFOs. Yes, nowhere else can you find a more entertaining, sleazy, fun to read book about UFOs.

I keep it on my shelf to stay appraised of the latest goings-on from the lunatic fringe.

5.0 out of 5 stars GOOD REFERENCE, Nov 3 2006
By Dana DEZARN - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The UFO Magazine UFO Encyclopedia: The Most Compreshensive Single-Volume UFO Reference in Print (Paperback)
I find this book very useful especially the short Bio's of numerous individuals listed, who I see refered to in other UFO articles & books.

Being new to UFOlogy, This book is valuable as a guide to many more books and interesting UFO incidents.

4.0 out of 5 stars Informative, good introduction, but not perfect, Sep 10 2007
By S. J. Adriaens - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The UFO Magazine UFO Encyclopedia: The Most Compreshensive Single-Volume UFO Reference in Print (Paperback)
This book can be used as an encyclopedia, but it is so interesting I just read the entire thing front to back. It looks good and as far as I know it is considered a reliable source of UFO-related information. The only problem I have with it is typing/writing errors. Would it have hurt to have someone check for mistakes?! I opened the book at a random page and immediately spotted one. That is the only reason for not giving it five stars. The book is still good, but not perfect.

4.0 out of 5 stars a very good, helpful UFO book...., Aug 20 2005

"THE UFO MAGAZINE: UFO ENCYCLOPEDIA" SC
by William J. Birnes(editor).

This is a UFO book. It is an encyclopedia.

The entries are in alphabet order. For example, "A" starts with "A-12 Oxcart", then "Abduction Scenario, Physical Evidence", then "Abductions, indicators of", then "Abramov Alexander", so on and so forth(from A to Z).

This is a very good book. A superior encyclopedia. It is full of different entries. It is complete & helpful. Photos & sketches are also many.

There are also some shortcomings. First, some pages get easily loose, so you need to glue it back; Second, the writing style is a little dense, but it is still easy to read & understand.

These entries are very good(from the book). They are the followings:

. Aurora
. Belgian Triangles
. Bermuda Triangle
. Billy the Kid
. Bonilla, A.Y.
. Brooking Institution
. Canary Island case
. Cash-Landrum case
. Central Intelligence Agency(CIA)
. Central Intelligence Agency, History of UFOs in
. Children of Roswell - the longest, most exciting, & best entry of them all(23 pages).
. Clonaid
. Flight 9, Project Mogul
. Flying Triangles
. Hill, Barney & Betty
. Hypnosis, Abduction Memory Recovery
. Implants, Alien
. Laser Weapons
. Lockheed
. Mars
. Mind Control(MK-ULTRA)
. Philadelphia Experiment
. Ramey Telegram
. Roswell, New Mexico
. Roswell Crash Press Release
. Sarbacher, Robert
. Smith, Wilbert Brockhouse
. Voronezh, Russia
. War of the Worlds, the Radio Broadcast
. Zamora, Lonnie

"Alien Agenda"(by Jim Marrs) is an another very good UFO book. It is very informative & enjoyable.

The contents(some) are the followings.

. "The Aurora Crash of 1897"
. Chapter 1 "The Greatest UFO ?"
. Chapter 4 "The Roswell Crash" & "The MJ-12 Papers"
. Chapter 5 "Giant Artificial Satellites"
. Chapter 6 " The Scientist & The Saucers"(the Bob Lazar story)
. Chapter 7 "Over The Hills"(the Betty Hill abduction case)
. Chapter 9(entire) "Cattle Mutilation"
. Chapter 10(entire) "Crop Circles"
. Chapter 11(entire) "Remote Viewing"(very, very good chapter on the subject matter).

FINAL ANALYSIS:
"The UFO Magazine: UFO Encyclopedia" SC
4 of 5 stars
**** = a "must read"
Rating: A-

This is a brilliant, practical, & helpful UFO book. It should be on your bookshelf.

A must read!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!!

P.S. -- "UFO Photographs Vol. 1" HC(by Wendell Stevens) is also a good book.
