I ordered these books for my 6 year old nephew, but my 3 year old son had a good look at them before we gave them away. We all loved them. The books are cool, funny and full of interesting information. I will order another set for us too.

From what I can see on Amazon, there are two versions of the Magic Shcool Bus series. One of them (the books that are square:The Magic School Bus Blows It's Top: A Book about Volcanoes) have the stories as they appear in the TV shows. But these books don't have the same level of scientific information as the other lot. The rectangular books (such as are in this 10 box set:The Magic School Bus: Explores the Senses) are the full deal with the main story, a bunch of speech bubbles with sub plot, and lots of scientific information as well. There is yet a third kind for older kids that has more writing and fewer pictures:The Magic School Bus Chapter Book #1: The Truth About Bats.

These books were bought on request of teachers in the Cook Islands to use in special ed as well as regular classrooms. The books were purchased used, but except for the case, they arrived in excellent condition. The children and teachers love them.

Our kids love all of the magic school bus books we've read. These are great for explaining subjects the kids ask "why" about but which are not always easy to explain. They feed and encourage their curiosity and learning.
