1st and foremost, be prepared to have this book re-bound as soon as you get it (don't even open it, just get it redone fast). The binding glue sucks really bad, brand new made in China (cough cough) ! The paper is really good quality gloss, but the wrong glue was used, and very small stitching. Great pictures, fantastic works by soo many talented artists, 448 pages makes it a thick heavy book that has a lifespan of 1 sitting. The next person to look at it will find most of the book scattered all over your floor. You can get it re-bound, but will cost twice what you paid for the book, or have the spine cut and use book binder rings, have 3-4 holes punched through and use 1.5 inch rings to hold it together. You will have to do this if you want to use the book more than once and have it last for 10-15 years. Other than that, good book.
Ditto goes for the other book as well. I'm having both books re-done for $25, cover gets removed, glue scraped off, spine not cut, 3 holes punched, and 1.5 inch books rings, pain to have to do , but well worth it. Both books together will provide you with an incredible amount of fantastic material.

The Mammoth Book of Tattoos was one of three books I had purchased in a bundle. While the other two books were more suited for my purpose, this book was sadly lacking. As previous purchasers had noted, the binding is not good. At all. The content itself? Again, not so good. I will get more information and better stories about tattoo artists from magazines bought at 7-11. This book does have nice pictures, but I will not be heartbroken should it go missing from my collection.

Love the photographs and bios on the artists. The only thing that disapointed me was the size: very thick but not small in width and lenght... makes it diffucult to easily go through all the pages because the book always has a tendency to close.
