Product Description

Could a major scandal cause the United States to terminate its support for Israel? The Masada Complex, a contemporary thriller set in Arizona, Washington, and Israel, gives us a chilling portrayal of exactly such a scenario. The novel’s unforgettable hero is Masada El-Tal, a beautiful Israeli expatriate who grew up on a kibbutz by the Dead Sea and served in an IDF elite unit. But her charmed life was struck by disaster 25 years, and left Israel for Arizona, where has built a new life, earning a reputation as a prizewinning investigative reporter. But her latest story causes the suicide of a U.S. senator, and an unprecedented wave of anti-Semitic violence sweeps across America. While an angry Congress prepares to enact legislation to suspend all military aid to Israel, a mysterious organization attempts to assassinate Masada in order to stop her relentless investigation. With the clock ticking, her friends turn out to be enemies, and those she has maligned come to her aid. And the truth Masada uncovers exceeds her worst nightmares. Like the Jewish homeland she has left, Masada must overcome her moral dilemmas in order to defeat her mortal foes and save her people from destruction.
“A first-rate thriller with exciting plot twists and engaging characters. Every page brims with gritty authenticity. The Masada Complex is a genuine treat for readers who love thrillers with a realistic, international flavor.” David Liss, author of The Whiskey Rebels and Conspiracy of Paper, winner of Edgar.

“As good as DeMille and Follett! The Masada Complex delivers fast pace, brilliant plot, unforgettable characters, and a mesmerizing premise. Terrific!” Stephen J. Wall, author of The Morning After and The New Strategists.

"The Masada Complex is a riveting portrayal of global intrigue against the backdrop of the American southwest; investigative reporter Masada El-Tal is a hard-hitting IDF veteran who pursues her diabolical enemies to the ends of the earth in her unfathomable quest—to uncover the truth!" Stella Pope Duarte, author of If I Die in Juaréz and Woman who Live in Coffee Shops and Other Stories, winner of the 2009 American Book Award.

I love that I learn something from each of Azrieli's novels. This book will appeal to history buffs and those who want to learn more about the conflicts between the Isrealis and Palestinians. Although political in theme, it was also a fast-paced thriller taking the reader through a whirl wind of activities, corruption and danger. As a journalist, the main character, Masada, takes the reader through unchartered territory. The investigations takes the reader through tales of the lives of soldiers in grim circumstances and the political setting of Isreal. The mystery is evoked with well thought out characters and a plot that continually keeps the reader's interest. As a work of fiction, this book can be read as an escape from life. A must-read!

By Latonya Lewis - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I have really become a fan of this author! The way the way he is able to teach a history lesson, inserted with mystery, politics and intrigue is truly infectious! Loved the characters. I'm a softy for flawed characters, their so much more believable. Best History Book I've read in a while. If Avraham Azrieli gets tired of writing, his style of teaching is always needed! An excellent thriller from beginning to end.

HASH(0xa0e791ec) out of 5 stars Political thriller fans take note Nov. 1 2011
By Jenna N. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Investigative reporter Masada El-Tal uncovers a story of political corruption and bribery which sets in motion a series of tragic events. Fast-paced, intelligent commentaries on the current status of Israeli politics and Palestinian reactions abound. The book is aptly named as following the twists and turns of Avraham Azrieli's story can be rather complex - though easily navigated if you pay attention. If you like modern political thrillers I suggest you check this one out. It keeps you reading well into the night and looking forward to the next chapter.

HASH(0xa10c8948) out of 5 stars Intriguing Political Thriller Sept. 2 2011
By Mihir Shah - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
In the spirit of Avraham Azrieli's novels, The Masada Complex is a tantalizing political thriller that delves into an intricate plan to sever relationships between the United States and Israel. The plot revolves around the stunning Masada El-Tal, a member of the IDF elite unit, and her incessant ventures into the business of prominent political figures (e.g. Senator Mahoney). As Masada inches closer to the truth, those around her plan to assassinate her. Her investigations, however, will reveal details beyond anyone's wildest dreams. No one is to be trusted in this book where friends become enemies and enemies become friends. Audiences will fall in love with this plotline that takes readers from the heart of Arizona and Washington to Masada's homeland of Israel.
