THE MASADA COMPLEX – A NOVEL

Columbia, Md. – President Barack Obama calls America’s alliance with Israel “unshakeable.” Avraham Azrieli’s timely new novel, “The Masada Complex” (ISBN 145054410X), questions this assertion with a realistic political thriller taking place in Arizona, Washington and Jerusalem.

“The Masada Complex” unveils a chilling scenario. Its hero is Masada El-Tal, a beautiful Israeli expatriate, currently an investigative reporter in Arizona. Her exposure of a bribe payment causes a disgraced U.S. senator to commit suicide. Angered by Israel’s supposed culpability, an angry Congress moves to terminate all military aid to the Jewish state. At the same time, someone repeatedly attempts to assassinate Masada, whose relentless investigation becomes a race against time, leading to a shocking discovery and a spectacular climax.

Initial reviews for the novel have been enthusiastic:
-“A first-rate thriller with exciting plot twists and engaging characters. Every page brims with gritty authenticity. ‘The Masada Complex’ is a genuine treat for readers who love thrillers with a realistic, international flavor.” —David Liss, author of “The Whiskey Rebels” and “Conspiracy of Paper,” winner of Edgar.

-“As good as DeMille and Follett! ‘The Masada Complex’ delivers fast paced, brilliant plot, unforgettable characters and a mesmerizing premise. Terrific!” —Stephen J. Wall, author of “The Morning After” and “On the Fly.”

-“‘The Masada Complex’ is a riveting portrayal of global intrigue; investigative reporter Masada El-Tal is a hard-hitting IDF veteran who pursues her diabolical enemies to the ends of the earth in her unfathomable quest – to uncover the truth!” —Stella Pope Duarte, author of “If I Die in Juaréz” and “Women who Live in Coffee Shops and Other Stories,” winner of the 2009 American Book Award.

4.0 out of 5 stars read this one if you want to learn! July 27 2012
Format:Paperback
I love that I learn something from each of Azrieli's novels. This book will appeal to history buffs and those who want to learn more about the conflicts between the Isrealis and Palestinians. Although political in theme, it was also a fast-paced thriller taking the reader through a whirl wind of activities, corruption and danger. As a journalist, the main character, Masada, takes the reader through unchartered territory. The investigations takes the reader through tales of the lives of soldiers in grim circumstances and the political setting of Isreal. The mystery is evoked with well thought out characters and a plot that continually keeps the reader's interest. As a work of fiction, this book can be read as an escape from life. A must-read!

By Latonya Lewis - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Kindle Edition
I have really become a fan of this author! The way the way he is able to teach a history lesson, inserted with mystery, politics and intrigue is truly infectious! Loved the characters. I'm a softy for flawed characters, their so much more believable. Best History Book I've read in a while. If Avraham Azrieli gets tired of writing, his style of teaching is always needed! An excellent thriller from beginning to end.
