5.0 out of 5 stars Well written book Sept. 29 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Wow...I really got lost in that story. You know when you're watching a movie and someone is underwater, and about 15 seconds later you realize you've been holding your breath. This book did that to me. It's about a girl who can read minds and at a point in the story she was learning to project thoughts, protect her own thoughts, etc. I found myself inadvertently doing this as well. Sounds weird I know, but you'll totally understand when you read it.

It's young adult and has a little romance in it, not enough to make me cringe (I'm not a fan of romance), just enough. There were no draggy parts and the end was perfect. Some series end so poorly but this was very well done in my opinion. In fact, the whole book was so well done I'm torn between the four and five stars. It's better than just four stars but was it perfect? Well, probably not but since I'm no literary critic, I'll say it was fairly close. I'll also say this - if you just want a good book to read, one that was well edited and no issues that pull you out of the story, one that something was happening throughout the whole story so it never feels dull, this book is it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful story March 2 2015

The Mind Readers

The Mind Readers, Book 1 in “The Mind Readers Series” is a young adult novel with some deep, dark themes of a young girls struggle with herself, her abilities and desperate need to be accepted.
This was a wonderful Novel.

There is so much truth to it though steeped in fiction, it chronicles the themes faced by many groups or social circles today in society struggling for rights and acceptance and though its total different, the theme itself is universal and reaches across boundaries.
This book tells the story of a young girl with a secret, Cameron Winters, who meets a young man, a shady character though he ended up being, wanting to manipulate her to his own personal gains (curr), he might just be able to help her unlock her hidden abilities though but like everything else in life, it comes at a great price, and one she must pay. Never let it be said that this author, Lori Brighton, doesn’t know how to spin a good story. With fruit-the-loop narrative and a delicate, versatile and mesmerizing writing style, this novel will stay with you for awhile and having you quickly getting the rest of the books in the series.

3.0 out of 5 stars good if you like Twilight-ish style March 17 2014

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is the first book of a series of 4 books. I liked it, but some parts were a bit long and redundant. Also a concept very similar to Twilight i find. It's the story of this 17 year old girl who feels very ordinary and insecure, never had many friends or a boyfriend. She has some powers she didn't know about. She suddenly meets this super gorgeous guy who can read minds and control other peoples emotions, and of course they fall in love. All sounds familiar???
Lots of action, she's always on the run. A few twists and turns, overall it's a good series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Inteligent read July 17 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
The Mind Readers is a very interesting book. Told in the first person by the protagonist, it leads us through the teenage life a young lady who is disturbed by her ability to read minds. She finds others like herself through the help of another mind reader, but nothing is as it seems as she comes to find out to her own peril. The end of the book leaves you hanging with no choice but to read the next book in the author's trilogy. I have also written three Kindle e-books. Check them out at
