GREAT!!!,

This review is from: The Mishomis Book: The Voice of the Ojibway (Paperback)
The Mishomis Book is a beautifully illustrated expression of the Ojibway people, it is an easy read that through the journey you end up picking up a bit of the language. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to have a detailed look at the origins of life through an anishnabe view point.

One of best books on Ojibwe Culture,
By Eve Troutt Powell - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Mishomis Book: The Voice of the Ojibway (Paperback)
This book was recommended to me by a distinguished Ojibwe elder and the tribal historian for his band as the "best book about our culture and religion." The "reading level: ages 9-12" makes it seem like a children's book. The beauty of it is that children can read it, but it is extremely valuable for scholars and the general public as well. Eddie Benton-Banai is a highly respected Midewiwin ('Grand Medicine Society') leader, whose grandfather was an eighth degree Mide priest (the highest and rarely attained level).

Very good book for both young people and older. It gives you a good overview of Ojibway beliefs and many nice stories of the beliefs. Definitely worth the easy read. It was recommended to me by a Potowatomi elder.
