About the Author
Rachel Caine is the author of more than twenty novels, including the "Weather Warden" series. She was born at White Sands Missile Range, which people who know her say explains a lot. She has been an accountant, a professional musician, and an insurance investigator, and still carries on a secret identity in the corporate world. She and her husband, fantasy artist R. Cat Conrad, live in Texas with their iguanas, Popeye and Darwin; a mali uromastyx named (appropriately) O’Malley; and a leopard tortoise named Shelley (for the poet, of course).

Volume 3 (Lord of Misrule and Carpe Corpus) was better than the first books! It was fast-paced, and even more full of mystery and action. I put this book down even less than the other two, finishing it almost all in one sitting. The people of Morganville finally have to work together with the vampires, and it's not a cheesy plot without sacrifice--instead it is intense and heartwrenching. I was full of the characters' emotions while reading. This book had me laughing and crying, sometimes even on the same page! Rachel Caine has the beautiful ability to keep characters consistent while also allowing them to grow, and keeps a realistic, awesome setting. I have already placed the others on rush order and can barely wait. The only downside that I have to put out there for the sake of honesty was on the very first page (Chapter 1) of Lord of Misrule. The very last line says, "Come to think of it, Claire had never seen her in the color gray, either." I was extremely frustrated at this, and had I not been already deeply involved in the series with no other qualms, I would have dropped the book. Caine makes a pretty big deal out of the exact same thing in Volume 2. Amelie is dressed in a dark gray suit, and Claire remarks that she had never seen her wearing gray. (Facepalm)So you can imagine how taken aback I was to read it on the very first page of Volume 3. UGH.When it comes down to it, I would recommend this book over all the other Supernatural thrillers I have read. These may even be ones I can go back and read again (much like I did with the Harry Potter Series, however different the books may be.)

Lord of Misrule...and...Carpe CorpusAgain, intense and constant never stop action page after page. So Emotional. I absolutely love the main characters Claire, Shane, Eve and Michael. You feel their genuine love for one another in this bizarre town of Morganville as well as feel despair, hope, sadness and joy. Best Vampire series I have ever read and I am already reading volume 4.....And I have to say I STILL LOVE MY MYRNIN and ALL his oddities...lol...I recommend Morganville Vampires to everyone...Rachel Caine...love ya work and keep em coming!!!!!!
