5.0 out of 5 stars Best book series ever!, Dec 27 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Mysterious Benedict Society Collection (Paperback)
My 7-year old gifted daughter loves this series - says it's the best book series ever, displacing her earlier longstanding favorite, Harry Potter! The storyline is fantastic, the characters truly believable, lovable and very much self-identifiable. I felt the same way as my kid about these books, and after reading the series immediately borrowed the audiobooks of it (read by Del Roy) so we could listen to it all again together. Its charm and feeling of never wanting the story to end remains with a second retelling - it's that much of a cannot-put-it-down book :)

If you have a gifted child or are gifted yourself, don't miss this series- truly a fantastic story! We just hope that Trenton Lee Stewart will come out with more books on Reynie, Sticky, Kate and Constance as they continue to grow up!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wowzer!, Oct 20 2010

I could not put these books down. I liked the characters, plots, sub-plots and everything in general. I have known kids who could pull off most of these stunts...so it kept me reading to see what they were going to do next. The fact that I had to wait on the second and then the last book to be published, was hard. That is why I am glad they are now in a set. I have given the sets as gifts to people I expect will want to read them back-to-back.

5.0 out of 5 stars CHeck out the sample first, Nov 7 2010
By Working Mom "Working Mom" - Published on Amazon.com
Mysterious Benedict Society books are awesome. Super-genius kids find ways to outwit evil adults and help good ones. Adventurous, fun childhood fantasy that allows the reader to try to figure out the puzzles with the protagonist. THis three volume set on kindle is an unbelieveably good deal.

But, get the sample first. My son and I enjoyed the illustrations in the paperback books that we have. The Kindle version does not have the illustrations. Even, the Kindle version pricing is still a bargain. Hope to see more cool kids' collections on Kindle soon!

If your child likes this type of story, he/she might also enjoy the Tom Swift series - free on Gutenberg or the entire collection is formatted for the Kindle at a very low price through Amazon here: Tom Swift Collection (With easy click Table of Contents)

5.0 out of 5 stars great books!!!, Jan 6 2011

This is an awesome set of books! My aunt got the first two for Christmas `08 and the third and final in the series the next Christmas. They are amazing books that have great story plots and are appropiately detailed. I have the hardcover versions of all three books. I was a bit skeptical at first (the first book is 450ish pages long!), but it is a great thing to buy. I have re-read all three books quite a few times. If you ask me, these books have tons of reread value. These are great books. Buy them!!!
