Totally lost on me..., Sep 28 2005
By marsha - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Naked Season (Paperback)
This book is entirely lost on me...and consider the money I spent on this book...well lost in a nude beach. On the cover, it deceivingly says `smart, surprising and sensitive'. What I say is it's sassy but stupid, surprising, yes, surprisingly boring!
Ok, that's the bad part about this book, The Naked Season. In actual fact, I cannot remember why I picked out this book among all the others in the shelves. The cover isn't all that great and the title is a little...confusing. If you're into lesbianism or feminism, grab it and read it to your heart's content. But for me, it's not really my cup of tea. Molly Flynn is boringly normal and her mother (adoptive mother) is outrageously crazy. So crazy it's almost unbelievable...well, she IS unbelievable and the word `fictitious' flash across my mind whenever Augusta (the mother) is written about.
Maybe I am not exposed to this kind of lifestyle and belief but sincerely, this book to totally unbelievably lost on me.
Apart from Molly Flynn, all the other characters in the books are either gays or lesbians.
I have nothing against lesbians and gays but when reading this book, I'm lost. I had to force myself to read on in order to get my money's worth.
