Although we are not vegan or even vegetarian, we are looking to make our life a healthier one. We love all of the photos in the book. The instructions are easy. The commentary is cute. We have made 3 recipes so far and all have turned out well - and we are making more today! Our 3 year old has happily participated in eating each dish we make as well (so no making special meals for the child, not that we ever really do). Great cookbook and one we will be sure to use often. And we think it's cool that the author is Canadian (so the ingredients are ones we know we can get).

I'm a proud omnivore but love making veggie-heavy meals, often omitting meat just because I feel like it, but it's easy to get into a rut. When I stumbled on the author's blog, her mouthwatering photos and interesting recipes grabbed my attention hard enough that I bought the book.

I especially love that the recipes aren't dependent on meat-alternatives, which as a meat-eater I find pretty horrid; protein comes from whole food sources instead.

You don't have to be a vegan to love making Angela's recipes, but Oh She Glows might just change the way you go about planning your meals in the future. I've been a fan of Angela and Oh She Glows for a long time, and have made many of the recipes from her blog. Her recipes are wonderful, she uses "real" whole food ingredients that you can find in almost any well stocked grocery store, and they are guaranteed to be delicious. While I'm not vegetarian or vegan, I no longer cook with meat at home and have become much more conscious of making healthier choices. I can't wait to cook my way through the Oh She Glows cookbook!

I have had this cookbook for 6 months and WOW. I have made over half the recipes and EVERY SINGLE ONE is delicious. I cook for my meat-loving boyfriend and he has liked every dish so far (even though he was skeptical). In fact, he commented that he always feels full but never bloated, lethargic, or heavy after eating them. I gave this cookbook to 5 different people at Christmas from my broke student sister, my very busy lawyer sister-in-law, my friend who lives off frozen dinners, and my VERY talented & avid cook mother. All of them gave rave reviews and for many different reasons.

WHY THIS BOOK IS DIFFERENT

1) EASY - Straightforward recipes. Easy to follow steps. Yet complex delicious meals are the result! Even if you think you can't cook, if you can read, you can make these recipes! No fancy equipment or cooking techniques required!

2) CONVENIENT - Every recipe is quick (with maybe a few exceptions that require some oven time or prep time) Also, a handful of recipes call for nuts to be soaked (but even then, there is a quick-soak method). I also personally choose to make all my own beans from scratch, but the recipes include amounts for both dried and canned beans.

3) NO SPECIALTY INGREDIENTS - Most vegan/gluten free/vegetarian cook books I have use a LOT of unique, specialty, or replacement ingredients. They are expensive and not always easy to find. There are very few used in this book. There are a couple (like vegan mayonnaise and vegan cheese- but I found these at the grocery store. Plus if you're not 100% vegan then regular mayo or cheese will do) It also calls for coconut oil sometimes, but again, any oil you have will work. I personally had to stock up on nuts and beans, and get nutritional yeast, but that's about it.

I LOVE this cookbook. I am a longtime follower of Angela's blog Oh She Glows, and her recipes and advice on the blog really helped me while I was transitioning into a vegan diet a few years ago.

I have made 5 recipes out of this cook book so far (1 breakfast, 3 entrees, and the cookies!), and they have all been incredible, even pleasing my carnivorous boyfriend! And that he is VERY hard to please, always my toughest critic. Not only that, but the book itself is pure eye-candy. You can tell that Angela put 110% into this book, just by looking at the photographs.

The recipes are easy to follow, and there are many options for substitution. My boyfriend is gluten-sensitive, but many recipes are gluten-free or have a suggestion for different ingredients.

I recommend this book to anyone who wants to live a healthier, more ethical lifestyle, or anyone currently thriving on a vegan diet. I recommend this book to EVERYONE! It seriously needs to be on your counter. It will not disappoint you.

Oh She Glows provides great vegan food that won't leave meat eaters missing their meat, dairy, or eggs.

What I love about the cookbook is variety: there is generally one recipe for each main ingredient (there isn't 500 buckwheat recipes). Her food is nutritionally well balanced, well spiced, and overall great tasting. I'm not vegan, but I've been reaching for the recipe book constantly. I may inadvertently become vegan because Angela makes it so delicious. I've probably tried 8 recipes from the book since I got it (just over a week). They have all been stellar, which makes me want to try more! Honestly, the best cookbook (vegan or non vegan) I've ever tried.

There are different sections; breakfast, smoothie, sides, entrees, snacks, desserts, which is helpful when meal planning.

Plus, the cookbook is much nicer than I anticipated, EVERY recipes comes with a picture (which I love).
