Susie Shellenberger is the editor of Brio magazine for teen girls published by Focus on the Family. She's a former youth pastor and high school speech and drama teacher. Susie has written thirty-six books. She has a passion for MKs and has been on every continent of the world (yes, even Antarctica). Being a teenager myself, I can truly say that there are not many devotionals out there that I really have an interest in. Even some of the ones for teens I find not so great. However, this one really is the best. The stories for each day of the year are applicable in our everyday lives and the scriptures help to encourage and build-up your spirit. And it is not so advanced that the beginner can not understand it. Being a Christian teenager today is not easy and getting the word of God is so important and this book really helps.

This devotional is perfect for older teens wanting to keep to their daily prayer commitment. The inspirational reflections bring the scripture references to life and keep you wanting to learn more. Really recommend this devotional and this author.

This book is great for someone just starting out with devotions. It's more implied to new comer Christians but is packed full with information and prayer, and loads of topics on every teens mind. It breaks subjects down day by day, and can really bring you closer to Christ. A Good christmas present so they can start on the first day of the year!

I loved it. It is 365 dated daily devotions aimed at teens. Shellenberger has written a lot of books, most of them aimed at girls or parents of girls, but she does a good job of making the transition to writing for a mixed audience. Each day has a page of material, often interesting stories, sometimes a little hokey, but that comes off okay too. Then there is a short paragraph on the side summing up, and a list of about four scriptures. That whole thing plus a prayer takes us less than ten minutes every school morning. I recommend it for people with teens in the house once it is part of the morning routine, it brings little complaint and a lot of good lessons on a wide variety of importent topics. We're starting on her devo book #2 now.
