James Hartman has a PhD in philosophy, specializing in the aesthetics of music. He studied organ with Filmer Hubble and is a frequent contributor to
The Diapason: The Journal of the International Society for Organ History and Preservation. He was born in Winnipeg and is currently senior academic editor for publication of the Distance Education Program at the University of Manitoba.
