The Outlaws: A Presidential Agent Novel [Hardcover]

I really like the Castillo series although, as stated previously, this series could, with minor adjustments be the natural continuation of the Colonel Frade saga in Argentina and am surprised that this has not been noted by others. I suspect that Colonel Frade and company have a date with destiny in the evntual Peron Era of Argentina and thus would complicate the Presidential series. Since the release of "Victory and Honor" however there is a sense that somehow The Frades of Argentina and the Castillos/von und zu Gossinger wil share some destiny/history in the forthcomming volumes.
The disappointment alluded to in the title is because the format. Committee writing processes have taken over some brilliant individual authors and reduced their output as pure drivel (Tom Clancy is a prime example) The Presidential Agent series is now a Committee project and it shows. Unfortunately.
A lot of useless and unnecessary repitition get in the way of an exciting story line which has millions of us hooked. What is not to like about someone who is filthy rich and able to do the comic book hero routine on a daily basis?
I will continue to subscribe and have the books delivered upon publication dates. Opening the box and settling in to a new griffin Novel is always an unplanned vacation of the mind. A great place to get lost and no one did it better than Mr. Butterworth III.
The arrival of Butterworth Junior on the writing team has not improved the writing however. The plot has less depth, conclusions easily anticipated and the characters have taken on a slimmer dimension. Gone is the heat. Replaced with a sense of daily routine/domestic bliss amongst the protagonists.
There is a perswonal sense of bewilderment as to the final result in this Chapter of the special Presidential team. When you are operated from the top it is a quick and final fall if you stumble. We recognise that. However, if you are working for the number one man in the world, have his protection and your results are very beneficial to your countrymen, then why do you have to be a sacrfificial lamb. That I do not understand, perhaps one has to be an American to do so. Other than the foregoing, pick up a copy, settle in for a good read. A word of caution however; if this is your first copy of the Presidential series, don't read it. Try to get to the first books of the series which will get you into the characters at a far greater depth than the last edition will provide. The very first "By Order of the President" is a great read and the hook to get you to subscribe to the series. It must not be missed. After thatmy friends, you are on your own. Enjoy.
Take this as my personal guarantee, it took a lot of pain out of an economy flight from Toronto to Frankfurt this spring and that is reason a plenty for buying a copy from the Butterworth Storyteller family.

Well done again WEB G! Lt. Col Castillo and his band of 'Outlaws' have returned from 'falling off the face of the earth" as instructed by their commander in chief, the late POTUS. Back again to foil a plot that runs all over the globe. Great read for all you Castillo fans...not sure what WEB can do to continue the story line much further...but will be interesting to see.
