Otto Malpense and his friends thought their first year at the Higher Institute of Villainous Education was the most adventurous and exciting that they would ever encounter. They were dead wrong.
When Otto and Wing are allowed off campus to attend Wing's father's funeral, they have no idea it's a trap, all part of a lethal plan organized by Cypher, the most ruthless supervillain any of them have ever known. He intends to use them to retrieve the Overlord Protocol, a device that has the capacity to help him take over the world. But when things go terribly wrong, Otto will stop at nothing to hunt him down and make him pay.
With the help of Laura, Shelby, Raven, and his former nemesis, Dr. Nero, Otto must find a way to defeat an enemy that has overcome some of the planet's most infamous villains without even breaking a sweat. Because if he doesn't, the world as they know it will be changed forever.

This review is from: The Overlord Protocol (Hardcover)
After an unsuccessful escape plan, Otto and Wing acknowledge H.I.V.E. as their residence for now.Unfortunately, Dr. Nero will have a difficult time explaining the circumstances of the attempted escape to the G.L.O.V.E. and Number One. Clearly, Number One is unhappy that the event took place, and Cypher believes that now is the perfect time to openly challenge the need for the school. When someone attacks Dr. Nero, he knows that he must be very cautious, but when Wing's father dies, he must send him to the funeral. School policy dictates that in such an unfortunate situation, another student may accompany said student in distress. Otto and Wing travel to the funeral without knowing that they will walk right into a trap. When Otto witnesses Wing's death he vows to take revenge on Cypher, thus creating an alliance with his old enemy, Dr. Nero. Together, can they stop Cypher's plan of world domination? Mark Walden picks up the story shortly after the conclusion of the first book with a fresh batch of problems, along with intense situations and fast-paced action that will leave readers' hearts pumping with adrenaline. Just Go Ahead and Donate Your Harry Potter Collection,
By Jade Zsiros - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Overlord Protocol (Paperback)
First off: Hi. I'm a high school AP student. I write fanfiction for this series, as do some of my other high school AP friends. And yes, all of us that I speak of as being fans are female, so even though this is labeled "Books for Boys", I'm going to tell you right now that gender is not an issue.I read the first book as part of my eighth grade gifted reading class. After we had finished, my best friend and I actually got into an argument because there was only one copy of this, the second, in the library. In the end, I ran out of the media canter with it, and called her over the telephone, and read the first three quarters to her on Halloween afternoon. We loved it. Let's start with cons: 1. Uh...... Couldn't think of any. Oops. Pros: (No spoilers) 1. This one was longer than the last, which made me happy because it lasted longer, being the last available book in the saga at the time. 2. Laura. Her being my favorite character made me extremely happy to discover that she narrated about a third of the book. 3. Computers. Because our favorite genius narrates a third of the book, we get to see a lot of techie jargon. And since the author used to be a video game designer, it's actually accurate. At one point Laura wakes up in the middle of the night screaming "It's a fractal encryption!!" I read that over a year ago and I haven't reread it since, but I still remember that line. 4. Politics. This one got more into the inner workings of the actual organization and how it worked, as well as... oh, right. I said no spoilers. So there we go. I sincerely hope I've convinced you to read this, it surpassed its predecessor. It is part of one of my favorite series, and I think you'll like it too. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful

Brilliant!,
By C.O - Published on Amazon.com
I absolutely loved every second of it,from the dramatic prologue to the brilliant climax. I stand by my first review in the fact that it's much better than Harry Potter, and I'd still recommend it to anyone

Get boys to read,
By A. A. Murphy - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Overlord Protocol (Paperback)
If you are looking for good books to get boys reading, you have found what you are looking for with the H.I.V.E series. They are action-packed and well-written. My 11 year old couldn't put it down. Start with the first one first, though, or your child might get confused.
