No Furigana,

I just want to make clear that this book is of very little use to english speakers who are trying to learn japanese since there are no furigana or romaji near the kanji. So there's no simple way of knowing how these Kanji would be pronounced. Everything in the presentation of this book tells me that it is intended for japanese students trying to learn english. For them, this book would probably rate a big five. But for me, it was a bad deal.

While this dictionary is certainly well made, it is clearly intended exclusively for Japanese speakers who wish to learn English. This is evident because the Japanese words do not include furigana pronunciations above the kanji characters. The absence of these pronunciations makes it difficult for English speakers who might hope to use this dictionary to expand their Japanese vocabularies. Should a third edition be made, I am sure I would not be the only one to appreciate the inclusion of furigana characters to make this a truly bilingual picture dictionary.
