Product Description

In 1933, oil heiress Daisy Canfield was on her way home from a party when her car veered off a Mulholland Drive cliff, plummeting 300 feet and instantly killing the wife of silent movie star Antonio Moreno. In the decades that followed, the couple's 14-bedroom Hollywood Hills estate would see time as a school for girls, then a convent before falling into disrepair, later being devastated by a 1987 earthquake. Born again more than a decade later, the renovated mansion has served as a recording studio for the likes of H.I.M. and Gwen Stefani, and recently hosted television's "Rock Star" reality series. It was between seasons of "Rock Star" that Papa Roach were tenants of the historic property, writing and recording the songs that comprise The Paramour Sessions. "We chose to move into the Paramour so we could focus on music and not have to deal with and be affected by the outside world," says Papa Roach drummer Dave Buckner. Little did the band realize the impact that the house would actually have. "We went in to the house with the intention of writing the most savage, bad-ass record we could write," adds frontman Jacoby Shaddix, "but when we got there, the house had a spirit about it that was bigger than us. We knew we were onto something the second we went into our jam sessions, because we'd never stepped into a room and played for six or seven hours straight, just being creative."The results of that creative energy - whether channeled by the band, or the product of a mysterious, more elusive energy - are The Paramour Sessions, the fifth full-length Papa Roach release of the past decade, and second for Geffen Records. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

The Paramour Sessions is the fourth album made by Papa Roach. I'm a fan of Papa Roach only since their Cd Getting Away With Murder. I bought The Paramour Sessions because this music group have a great sound. In my opinion, they have a small something similar in all their albums but this one is quite different from all their cds.Papa Roach is not like the other music groups With each new cd we can see the difference, they always change something (sound, the voice, the lyrics...)If you liked the three other Papa Roach cds and you don't have The Paramour Sessions go and buy it immediately. To be loved, ALine (N' out of control) and Crash are my favorite songs on this cd.

I commend Papa Roach for turning their back on nu-metal entirely and evolving into the band they are today. PR brings us a solid release, knocking you over right from the get-go with "...to be Loved" (my personal favourite on the album) and "Alive" and while the middle of the album gets a little "iffy" for me halfway through, ends strongly- very strongly: I'd say the last five tracks are all worth more than a few listens.

In short, buy the album if you want to hear some of Papa Roach's best work to date. Simple as that.

I've listened to the whole album on clearchannel.com and this album definately rocks|

It is complete, innovative , and rocks like hell!

Papa Roach are definately back on the track with this new album. They're keeping their "GAWM" sound, but with type of vocals, GUITAR SOLOS! , and great lyrics!

Again , Papa Roach proves that they are the best and that they still rock!!!

This is an awesome album. While there are many people out there who refuse to even give Papa Roach a chance, if they were to listen to this album, they would enjoy it. The album has something for everyone.

Some really good tracks on this album (in my opinion) are The World Around You, Forever, My Heart is a Fist and No More Secrets. Every song on the album is good however.
