5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, Hilarious, and Disturbing. April 4 2009

If you're looking at this book, you've probably already read all the PBF comics. They're all here in this book, and as awesome as ever. Don't expect too much else though, there's a few unpublished strips (with an explanation as to why they weren't published for each), 2 pages of rough sketches, the interview with David Malaki that you can find online, and 1 paragraph each by Nick and Diablo Cody.

The stuff you can't find on the web is not the reason to buy this though. Buy this because it's a beautifully crafted permanent archive of PBF. The satin-smooth matte cover with an embossed title, the heavy, hand numbered pages with just the right amount of gloss, the red ribbon bookmark, everything about this book just makes it pure class. Your friends will be impressed when they see it on your coffee table. And then shocked when they flip it open.

A fantastic book full of inventive, dark, disturbing and hilarious comic strips. Nick Gurewitch is a unique talent and the Perry Bible Fellowship should be brought to as wide an audience as possible, if only to emphasize just how tired and unfunny most cartoon strips are. Buy it!

My only caveat would be that the PBF Almanack has a lot of overlap with The Trial of Colonel Sweeto and Other Stories, so if you already own the latter, you may decide you don't need both. However, if you only have to choose one of the PBF books, get this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gary Larson, Bill Watterson, Nicholas Gurewitch July 5 2010
Format:Hardcover
Gurewitch experiments with many different styles of comic in his collection. His uses of colour are masterful and vibrant. His subject matter is bizzare. The scenarios stick with you long after the book is closed. I have referenced a comic or two of his a few times in discussion and probably will again in the future. This book is large and embossed. It makes a great coffee table center piece but be sure to hide it away when your parents come to visit. A great number of these comics are R rated.

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely worth it Feb. 20 2011
Format:Hardcover
The hard cover looks fantastic. When friends come over, they are all intrigued by this fascinating and strange looking book. It's on the top on my shelf. With a little beer and great music in the background, reading those little comics is a blast. Buy it.

The stories...oh the stories!

The artworks is decent and gets better with the progression of comics. The content is hilarious and witty!

If you enjoy puns, bad jokes, good jokes, awkward moments or your grandmother this book deserves a spot in your home.
