Product Description

Review

"Phoenix Lights is a compelling and thoroughly documented account of the most bizarre and widely observed UFO event in modern times." --Edgar Mitchell, ScD, Capt USN (ret), Apollo astronaut

"Vitality, clarity, and a keen open mind show through Lynne's carefully documented account of the the still unexplained Phoenix Lights." --Richard F. Haines, PhD, CHFP, Chief Scientist, NARCAP

"As the originator of much of the footage and still images of the objects that hovered over Phoenix, Dr Kitei's logical mind, forethought and clear thinking has resulted in invaluable and unarguable evidence to support the Phoenix Lights phenomenon. This self-confessed novice to the field has provided a pertinent reminder of an approach to Ufology that many researchers seem to have forgotten--UFO's exist and they may be far more connected to us than we realize. Perhaps it is time to stop focusing on what we can see and focus on what we can feel." --Lee Earle, Editor, UFO Encounter (UFORQ, Australia)

Product Description

On the evening of March 13, 1997, Lynne Kitei, M.D., looked out her bedroom window over Phoenix and saw something that would change her life.

Strange lights appeared in the sky over the nighttime city. Amber orbs in formation. It was a massive triangular array of lights moving silently but in unison as though they were connected. Many people throughout Phoenix and across the state of Arizona saw them.

Optical illusion? Unlikely. Military aircraft? That's what the U.S. government wanted her to think. UFOs? That's what her evidence and subsequent years of careful research, interviews, and documentation, including photographic proof, strongly suggest. The result is The Phoenix Lights, a sober, well-researched account, both personal and scientific, of the story behind the lights, of the theories and cover-ups, the facts and denials that surrounded this event.

Kitei, a well-respected Phoenix physician, had always thought of herself as grounded and practical, not one to be taken up with new age interests. But her firsthand experience and the undeniable reality of the photographs she took changed all that. She found herself a key insider in a complex mystery that has baffled humanity for centuries. What are UFOs? Who are the beings presumed to fly them? What do they want? How does it change your life to see one?

The answers to these questions and more are found in The Phoenix Lights. Over the years since the sightings, she's become an ardent, tireless researcher into the truth of the Phoenix Lights and an advocate for public disclosure by the government about the subject of unexplained phenomena.

5.0 out of 5 stars Compelling!!, Jun 1 2004
By
This review is from: The Phoenix Lights (Paperback)
I have never witnessed an unidentified flying object nor have I had a near death experience. In the past I have been fascinated with discussions of these kinds of phenomena, but my logical, engineering personality would rationalize that there must be some other explanation. At the urging of a fellow engineer I picked up this book. I had no preconceived notion of it's contents and had never heard of the Phoenix lights. Therefore, I did not know what to expect when I got into the book. What I didn't expect was a convincing, detailed account of one doctor's search to discover the truth of what she personally witnessed in the skies over Phoenix. It is apparent that Dr. Kitei was fearful that her own credibility would be tarnished if she let if be known that she believed there was "something out there". Her tenacity fascinated me. Although I can say that the end of the book certainly provided the icing on the cake, without the detailed accounts and repeated questioning of herself, I know that I wouldn't have been convinced. Having read this book, I feel I have been taken on a journey that has left me feeling there is so much more I need to know....we all need to know. It's very compelling. Thank you Dr. Kitei for pursuing your answers and enlightening me.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Couldn't Put this Book Down, Jun 1 2004
This review is from: The Phoenix Lights (Paperback)
After not being able to put The Phoenix Lights down over the holiday weekend, I went directly to Amazon.com this morning to buy it as a gift for a number of my friends. When I read the mean-spirited and frankly incongruous review by Ken Wells I had to write this one. How could anyone, no matter how skeptical, not be impressed by what Dr. Lynne has accomplished in this wonderfully written book. Her dedication to detail, including never before seen personal photographs of the anomalous lights, the spiritual messages that permeate the book, and her ultimate wake-up call for humanity, that the reviewer obviously missed, make this a must read. This book is not only for those open to the positive potentials we possess as human beings - but even more importantly, for close-minded skeptics and debunkers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Space, May 19 2004
By
Ken Wells (Laguna Hills, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Phoenix Lights (Paperback)
I had high expectations for the book, a definitive account of the 1997 Phoenix Lights UFO case. The introduction, foreword, preface, and acknowledgements were a waste but then I got to Chapter 1 (two pages), which gives a brief overview of the sightings. From then on the book is a waste of paper and I am extremely disappointed I bought it. The author rambles on and on without going anywhere or arriving at a destination. She repeats information over and over and over. Her writing style is unprofessional and, quite frankly, plain boring. The last third of the book is a complete waste, just filler. This is a classic example of someone taking a good 2,000-3,000 word story and trying to stretch it into a book. It just doesn't work. Save your money and go to the library and read news accounts of the lights for free. Or you can find better information online, such as the Jeff Rense site.
