Product Description

In The Pirate, Harold Robbins reached into the exotic, sensual world of the Middle East - into the passionate, violent realm of one indomitable man! The Pirate was the wealthiest sheikh of all Islam. Badyr Al Fay's origins were as mysterious as the shifting desert sands, but his cunning mind had forged a vast economic empire. From the world's luxurious, decadent playgrounds to the intrigues of international finance, he relentlessly conquered the most formidable challenges, and the most beautiful women. But his past haunted his every move, and the woman he loved but could not hold - a beautiful, blonde American - threatened to destroy him. At the pinnacle of his power, as a storm of politics, betrayal and terrorism gathered around him, he would risk everything to gain his ultimate dream - a prince's golden throne...

This book was one of those books that you will read and never want to stop reading. I just finished reading it, but was very disappointed with the way it ended. I am going to look to see if there is a sequence to it, like that of "The Carpetbargers". When I lived in the island of Trinidad, I had seen the movie on television. I am also going to look to see if I can find it here.

5.0 out of 5 stars True perspective of Arabs in sea, Mar 9 2001
A Kid's Review - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Pirate (Mass Market Paperback)
Harold Robins has master minded a fiction on Arab legacy. He has protrayed Arab culture, their love for lust and style of life in sea, so truely that I was unable to go to bed with unfinished book. The author's vision and sense of imagination is amazing and probably intutive. Library must have such books.
