“The action is taut, the characters are fascinating, and the fact that the teens are slowly finding one another and learning about Lorien secrets is sure to yield an impressive all-out battle down the road. This series continues to head in interesting directions.” (Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books)

Praise for I AM NUMBER FOUR: “Number Four is a hero for this generation.” (Michael Bay, director of Transformers)

“There’s genuine suspense…it’s easy to get lost in the world of the sweet teen from another planet.” (Chicago Tribune)

This is even better than I Am Number Four. When I found out that John wouldn't be narrating the entire series, I felt a bit worried. I really liked his voice and was concerned I wouldn't like the other narrator (Marina/Seven) but I ended up really liking her. I preferred John, but Marina went through a lot of character growth and becomes a very strong girl in her own way. She is 17 - almost 18 - so she is more mature and even-tempered than John, which I liked. Her story takes place in a nun convent, which was really interesting and brutal to read about.

We are introduced to lots of new characters, all of whom I enjoyed. Well...I have mixed feelings about Six. ------------SPOILER--------------- So Sam AND John (yes, John) end up developing feelings for Six (trust me, don't feel sorry for Sarah.) I LOVED how they doesn't affect Sam and John's friendship, however...I don't feel like Six deserves them. It's that stupid double-standard thing. Six has feelings for BOTH of them - yes, BOTH - and she is open about it and even has the nerve to say "deal with it" to John, in front of Sam. Now if she were male, she would be written off as a sexist womanizer - a pig - but because she is female this apparently makes her "strong" and "independent." RIDICULOUS. It is disgusting to lead two people on at the same time, whether you are male or female. And trust me, Six did a great job of leading Sam and John on. I felt so sorry for Sam especially. Like I said, SIX DOES NOT DESERVE EITHER ONE. -----------END OF SPOILER-----------

If you enjoyed I Am Number Four, you will certainly enjoy The Power Of Six. Especially if you are a girl (like me!) because we get a female narrator for a little over half the novel.

I have very mixed feelings about this book. Decided to read it because I truly enjoyed the movie "I am number four" and thought it was a good story. It started out ok, but the deeper I got into it, the poorer the writing got. There doesn't seem to be any difference in voices between different characters (they all sound and think the same pretty much), the sentence structure is atrocious in some places and at times it feels as if the writers didn't have a clear plan of the story but just made it up as they went. Character development is more of an afterthought and as the voice changes from one character to another, I have a hard time keeping track of who's talking. Overall I found the writing incredibly immature and sometimes awkward, as if the book was written by a ten year old making up a fantastic story starring himself as the hero. I will keep reading the series simply because I want to find out how the story ends, but I'm not enjoying the writing.

I Know this book is a sequal, and i know that there was one book before and will be books after, however, reading it i felt like there was no begining and no real end, it really left me high and dry, i have read many sequals and most at least give you some sort of closure while still making you want more, with this one all i wanted was more. With this said, i did really enjoy the book, it was entertainting and action filled, I really like the way the author introduces the new arrivals, i cannot wait for the next one, in hopes that it will give me a little more closure.

This book meshes in seamlessly with I am number four you can see that the same writer did this book in the very same style as the last one I am number four but that adds continuity to the series in total. Again I find myself anxiously waiting for the next book, Heaven help us if they are on earth with us.

Love.... Love.... Love this series! This is the second book of the series, and it just keeps getting better! I'm on the last chapter and am looking forward to book #3. It's a different, unique story that I think would appeal to ages from 12 to 100! I highly reccomend this book.

I read and enjoyed the first of the series and feel that this is perhaps a touch better. The story is becoming bigger and more interesting to me and has me excited for the next book.
