A good overview...generally., Nov 24 2010

Mr. Dettelbacher has put a good amount of effort into this snapshot of the world's problems and potential solutions. The book is a good beginning to understanding why the world is how it is, and how we might be able to change it for the better.
I do find it odd that he missed one major link. While he does criticize Israeli violence in Gaza (p.168), and the generally radical stance of Zionists (p. 171), he completely misses the influence of these same Zionists on politics in the United States, the "American" of his "Anglo-American Axis" (p.62) of evil. Again, while criticizing banking, false flag terrorism, and the media, he completely misses the Zionist contributions to these causes. I do thank him for mentioning that not all Americans belong to the "Evil Empire" (p.167), as all Jews do not support Zionism. However, he does seem, in some places, (p.73 & 174) to generalize that white people are the problem. Why generalize about us?
That is the only bone I had to pick with the book. Now, on to my favorite parts!
He generally rails against fiat currency and promotes a return to a more honest money backed by some vital commodity. I believe that this will happen out of necessity, but I doubt we will end up with any accepted global currency. He mentions the re-localization of most everything (p.50), and I believe that money will follow that path as well, for better or worse.
Also, I enjoyed his critique of Obama's Nobel Peace Prize (p.205). I think he is incorrect about Obama being a fake president. He stole it fair and square just like his predecessors! The Peace prize was not deserved, though. It would be like making Ghandi the world heavyweight boxing champion!
I do believe that we must envision a new way for the world to work in the future, not just to survive, but to make survival worth all the effort.
Thanks to George Ure & urbansurvival.com for the recommendation.

thoughtful but neither elegant nor groundbreaking, Mar 25 2011

This review is from: The Pre-Revolution Handbook: How a Non-Violent Constitutional Movement Could Transform Collapse Into Rising Freedom & Real Change (Paperback)
This book is essentially a wide-ranging series of random articles partly taken from the author's blogs and very much U.S. centric, although the author claims a more international viewpoint because he has lived in India since 2009. I did not care much for the writing style (random example: "the metaphysical instrument of analogy meets its highest point of abstraction") but the essays are generally well-observed and exhibit consideration of many points too often completely missed by U.S. writers.
Dettelbacher's strongest point is his skill in identifying indicators of what events are likely to be coming up soon. He understands that a small "elite" is trying to control the world and steer it towards a specific endgame, that they have tried hard but failed surprisingly often, and that there are many people who are not as sheepish as they are expected to be and have repeatedly foiled the plans of the powers that ruled.
Along the way, the book covers an eclectic range of subjects, including unexpected bank holidays and devaluation, eugenics, internet censorship, positive/negative thinking, decentralization, simultaneous hyperinflation/deflation, programming/controlling the human mind, the failure of modern science, the need for fundamental changes to our history and its authorized timeline, climategate, government backing of illegal drug sales, the international war machinery, swine flu/WHO/mass vaccination, and the need for disclosure about extraterrestrials.
I was a little disappointed: somehow I expected a book with a title like "Pre-revolution Handbook" to have practical information and advice. None here.
If you want some practical tips, there is Veronica Chapman's excellent introductory book "Freedom" with the right words, phrases, letters and forms explained in clear and simple detail. More advanced is Menard's wonderful "With Lawful Excuse" available as an ebook for $16 from the WorldFreemanSociety, but you can first have a free look on youtube at Menard's "Bursting Bubbles of Government Deception" to see if the book is likely to interest you. If possible, "With Lawful Excuse" is even better than his videos. I also recommend that you get the "prequel", a book also called "Bursting Bubbles of Government Deception" and costing about $5.50, also from the WorldFreemanSociety, which provides the basics needed to get to grips with "With Lawful Excuse". They do refer to Canadian law but the concepts are similar here, since Canada is part of the common wealth.
Be warned: there is a lot of complicated detail to understand first - you need to be very clear - or it is dangerous as the authorities will get you if you make even the smallest mistake. If you are interested in this type of information, also try an internet search on "patriot mythology", and have a look (on youtube) at "The Law - stand up and reclaim your rights" by MrAstrotheology and as well as some of what Max Igan, Frank O'Collins and Dean Clifford have to say.
Also have a look at Google Videos & You Tube, search for Raymond St Clair, the strawman illusion, accepting for value, etc, etc. The videos of Raymond St Claire going into a local court and very politely distressing all the court officials on a fundamental point of law are priceless. The basis of Raymond St Claire's challenge and the reason for their distress is not clear in the videos but IS explained towards the end of the Chapman book "Freedom" - namely that judges swear to uphold common law but they are actually sitting in a civil/statute law court where they have no power over you unless you agree (which we are always fooled into doing, because we don't know any better). Don't miss!

This is not a book for the Left or for the Right., Feb 9 2011

Just as Dettelbacher says in his intro: "This is not a book for the Left or for the Right." It is for the growing number of people who are awakening to the greater reality of our global interconnectedness. It is a book for anyone who has become disillusioned with the false ideas and cultural elitism that has been pounded into our consciousness since birth by corrupt governments, greedy banks, and soul-less corporations.
As a thoroughly devoted fence-sitter, I appreciate Dettelbacher's commitment to explore the corruption and inequalities of modern civilization with a certain spiritual and intellectual detachment - avoiding both extremes of tired neo-Marxist pablum or jingoistic neo-con ranting.
Is Dettlbacher a fence-sitter to the degree that I am? No, he isn't. He has opinions. Strong ones. But he makes very good supporting arguments. He takes on big themes, focusing on the, "coming 'revolution' in society: economic, scientific and on the plane of consciousness."
He speaks to the importance of the average man and woman augmenting or replacing his or her own worldview in order to allow new ideas to take root. Dettlbacher's analysis of our problems isn't unique, but it is well-presented - that we must find the courage to work together to create the fabric of a new society. In essence, if we don't stand up, organize and create this new socio-political reality for ourselves, the global elite will create one for us.
I find this message uplifting since it leaves one with the hope of personally making a difference in the world. And this is welcome relief from the many defeatist doom-n-gloom tomes which populate the shelves these days.
In the end, The Pre-Revolution Handbook is an entertaining and stimulating exploration of our modern times. It is geared for those who are tired of the divisive and spiritually deadening rhetoric of the mainstream media, and who are ready to move on to some fresh ideas.
