Another enjoyable Heyer,
By
This review is from: The Quiet Gentleman (Paperback)
This was a very good Heyer. The romance is not centre-stage in this book, but it's not completely lost either. It's just not as much a "romance" novel as some of her others. However, the characters are entertaining, I really like Gervaise and the way he handles his family. It's more of a mystery, although I wouldn't classify it specifically as a mystery anymore than I'd said it's a hardcore romance. It's definitely not one of her light, humorous romps (despite the splashes of humour throughout the book); it is more serious. But it's definitely a good read and did not disappoint. Worth reading.
