1.0 out of 5 stars SPOILER ALERT Oct 25 2012
By allana - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Mass Market Paperback
SPOILER what an awfully boring read there is absolutely no romance if you think that is what you are getting
here is a list why i hated it
1 she was constantly described as super tall long MEG etc mismatched eyes, bossy, masculine and though i tried to see her as a super model height her own self loathing and repetition for her gigantic size from the author made her sound more like a circus freak ,real mood killer!
2 though the guy was not bad he was a recovering alcoholic with all that entails but he just existed through the book more just being there than showing any true interest ,i almost hoped he would hook up with the sexy witty smart 19 year old ward to wake him up a bit ,she too was far more interesting then the fuddy duddy heroine
3 they finally get it on at the end of the book and even then there is no feeling or description you go through a book of blah blah blah none of it interesting talk about pottery talk about dog and cat reactions just a giant yawn waiting for the real romance and it never comes
4 totally inaccurate as regards historical facts females did not inherit dukedoms and no one ordered dresses with a split up the leg geese !!!!!
5 we are lead to believe she ran off because her father let her down which is total rubbish she never gave him a chance or explained why she never wanted to marry ,it was easier apparently for her to run to a sleazy inn and sleep with a drunkard then speak to her father ,leaving behind he security for a possible life of poverty and where was her pride and honor sleeping with a total stranger?absolutely ridiculous plot plus this fact is suddenly revealed to us at the end of the book while we think she is holier than now!
6 the farther she absolutely refused to return to for ten years speaks to her three seconds and she pack and leaves her whole life behind in minutes
I LAUGHED MORE THAN I SHOULD HAVE BEEN ENJOYING A ROMANCE, IT WAS SO RIDICULOUS I HAD TO FINISH IT TO SEE HOW MORE RIDICULOUS IT COULD GET!!!!!
