Excellent Series, Mar 11 2008
This review is from: The Rat Patrol: The Complete First Season (DVD)
Season 1 of "The Rat Patrol" on DVD contains all 32 exciting color episodes. When I first bought this set I had never seen the show before so I must admit I was a little worried. The show got off to a very shaky start with almost half of the episodes in this set being poorly written. After this rough start the show became a very exciting drama with lots of WW2 action. The only bonus features this set contains is a "Top Secret" military dossier which gives very helpful biographies of the shows main characters. The sound and picture are presented beautifully. I would have rated this higher except for the poorly written episodes. This show is a must have for any person that enjoys a good military drama

KILL OR BE KILLED !, Jan 4 2007
This review is from: The Rat Patrol: The Complete First Season (DVD)
Blazing across the desert! Long before the A-Team we had "The Rat Patrol". MGM Studios have done an excellent job with the release of "The Rat Patrol" season one on DVD. All 32 explosive season one episodes presented in color, are included in this 4 single sided disc set. The set has great packaging and disc artwork and contains two single sided DVD's per slim case. The picture quality is absolutely stunning. The sharp and vibrant colors are truly amazing and they make the desert scenes come alive. The sound is clear and consistent throughout the first 32 episodes and better than anything I expected. An information booklet on the cast is included and it is the only form of bonus material in the set. The "Rat Patrol" season one is 5***** star fun. Thanks to MGM Studios for finally releasing this classic show on DVD. I hope that season two is on the way, over and out!

What Was I Thinking?, May 1 2007
This review is from: The Rat Patrol: The Complete First Season (DVD)
While this is certainly an excellent product - great packaging and video quality - I am left wondering what I was thinking as a kid. Used to be I didn't want to miss an episode of RP. Having sat through Season 1, I can't believe how badly written most of the episodes were and how stereotyped and wooden the characters were. I kept waiting for it to get better. But neither the writing nor the characters did. The lesson learned here? Some things are better left as memories!!
