I am very pleased with this book. There is a very condensed, but helpful discussion of chord substitutions and theory in the first 4 pages. This a fake book so there is no bass staff notes, only chords to accompany the melody, but he provides two sets of chords for each song. You have an alternative, one is usually more difficult than the other. He also provides introductions and ending. The ending for "The Christmas Song" is the melody for "Jingle Bells". I really impressed my friends.

I really liked this book. It introduces the intermediate beginner to some real interesting and nice sounding chord changes. Plus, it teaches you the reason behind some of the changes! I'm planning to get his other 4 music books!
