Product Description

Though hailed a hero by his people, the course of life has not run smooth for the battle-weary Tungdil the dwarf. But there is no rest for this warrior yet - as he must now find the strength to face the most formidable enemy the kingdom has ever encountered . . .

A new evil has risen from the depths of the earth to terrorize the land of Girdlegard. Monstrous creatures - half-orc, half-älfar - are roaming the kingdom, leaving a trail of death and destruction in their wake. These merciless hybrids are on a mission to obtain the most powerful weapon known to the dwarf race - and whoever holds this weapon will control the world.

Then when the fossilized Magus Lot-Ionan is stolen, Tungdil spies total disaster on the horizon. With the very existence of the dwarves under threat, he will have to resort to his trusty double ax and risk everything he knows to save his country from annihilation . . .

Hold your breath for THE REVENGE OF THE DWARVES, the next thrilling installment in this spectacular fantasy epic from international bestselling author Markus Heitz

4.0 out of 5 stars life's not easy for a dwarf hero [no spoilers], Feb 22 2012
By Oscar "DaRK KNighT" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Revenge of the Dwarves (Paperback)
"The Revenge of the Dwarves" is the third installment in the series chronicling dwarf Tungdil Goldhand's adventures. Many of the prior experiences have impacted the characters in numerous ways, a couple with severe consequences. In addition to Tungdil, Boïndil, and Rodario, new and surprise characters provide excellent entertainment. Expect moderate political maneuvering, exceptional battles, and conflicted soul searching.

Extremely serious events happen to the protagonists, yet the shocking nemesis and the reasoning behind attacking Girdlegard will blindside anybody. The fascinating plotline thoroughly entertains despite the rare minor editing errors.

An enhanced map of the significant terrains and a more comprehensive appendix would have been useful.

I highly recommend the series to any fan of the fantasy genre.

Thank you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Markus Heitz impresses again..., Dec 21 2011
By Peter Paul Crasta "The Ice phoenix" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Revenge of the Dwarves (Paperback)
The third in the series, this book is simply brilliant. Bought this one the moment I saw it on the shelf since I loved the first two. What initially appealed to me about this series is the fact that this one deals with main protogonists who are not human or elves. Dwarves who in most fantasy literature are a sidekick race are the focal race here. Of course elves and humans exist too and een the non dwarf characters are well developed. A must have for any fantasy lover, the series will keep you gripped and wanting for more. I hope Heitz continues to write more in this series.
Read them in this order: "The Dwarves", "The Wars of the Dwarves" & "The Revenge of the Dwarves". You cannot go wrong getting this set.

This is just another great book in the series. It will make you think twice about some of the characters. The pacing is good, the payoff is great. I had a hard time putting it down. Excellent
