Michael Savage is the host of The Savage Nation, a radio program that airs on over 300 stations nationwide. A self-described victim of "truth-in-mouth syndrome," he claims to be "the only man in the country saying it the way it really is." His stated purpose for writing the book is to save a "homosexualized, feminized America" from a liberal assault that is "unraveling the very fabric of this great nation." Declaring that "a minority of feminist zealots rule the culture," he blames Democrats and liberals for everything from a general decline in morals in the United States to bringing the Taliban to power in Afghanistan. Although one chapter is entitled "Crimes of the Democrats" (with special attention paid to Al Gore), Savage is no Republican stooge--this "bipartisan basher" reserves plenty of venom for the GOP as well, particularly regarding immigration, one of his favorite subjects. Savage calls for a severe tightening of U.S. borders and vigilant racial profiling in order to combat terrorism and the spread of infectious diseases. He also rails against liberal media bias, big government, the lack of prayer in schools, rampant pornography, the UN, the ACLU, and a host of social ills that he believes were caused almost exclusively by hippies in the 1960s and the Clinton administration in the 1990s.
Like many talk-show personalities, Savage is confrontational, angry, entertaining, and prone to exaggeration, sometimes all at once. He can also be funny and sarcastic. But while he does offer some interesting observations and enough food for thought to make this slim volume worth a read, his book is essentially one long rant with precious little useful information to back up his often bombastic claims. His angry-man shtick may make for stimulating drive-time listening (and high ratings), but it doesn't make for a particularly convincing book. --Shawn Carkonen

This is one of the best, to the point books I've read. It is timely & to hell with political correctness. P.C. is ruining this country. Michael tells it like what most people think. He presents his opinions, in the book & on his show, with as much intellectual clarity as anyone around. In the last 12 months I've read most of them. Ann Coulter comes close but still not as clearly as Michael.
Michael must keep his passion. It's very important. I can't wait to listen to his show tonight re: C-Span & all those enemies they covered. Where was the coverage with the Patriots.

This book is great and really sums up what I've been enjoying about Michael Savage for the 5+ years I've listened to him here in San Francisco. You have to admire his guts in telling things the way they are. We need more folks like Savage to cut through the Politically Correct nature of the national debate. Let's not forget what made this country great. As Savage reminds, those who don't remember history are doomed to repeat it. We have to keep America from falling like the Roman Empire did centuries ago.

This is a wonderful time of hope for those of us who are rock-steady conservatives. Michael Savages tome adds to the already solid foundation of written works released recently by Sean Hannity, Michelle Malkin, and the wonderful Ann Coulter. These authors ARE the watchmen of the present age. They wave the lanterns of warning in hope of steering America from a fatal crash and burn. Michael Savages book is the truth. Those who dislike his message do so because the light he shines exposes them for who they are....liberal fools who want to "Bring it all down, man." There is only one Michael Savage, but he speaks for the legion of clear minded individuals like myself, who love America and want to halt its demise at the hands of the demonic ACLU. Buy two copies, one to read and one to give to your favorite Liberal. Rock on Mike Savage!
