4.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding-A Must Read, April 4 2000

I couldn't put this book down. The characters seemed like real people, with all their hidden motives and desires. The plot was very well defined and believable...I can't wait to read her next in the series!

5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put THE SCATTERING down until I had finished!, Feb 28 1999

Imagine waking up outside, in an unknown place and wearing clothes which aren't yours. Then, imagine being attacked by an unknown assailant a few moments later. This is what Joy Mayfield encounters as she tries to make sense of her reality shifts. The book is action-packed and will satisfy the sensibilities of even the most prolific sci-fi/spiritual thriller reader. With the help of a spiritual guide known as The Runner, Joy and her husband Steve travel both in our dimension and others to learn The Teachings which will assist them in locating a gifted child who is both their mission and purpose. However, their journey is fraught with encountering those who would use this "seeded" child (and others like him) for their own sinister purposes. I found the book almost a cross between The Celestine Prophecies and Dean Koonts' writings (as some of the created visuals are the purest of horror!). Unless you are a very fast reader, DO NOT begin this book at night or you will not get any sleep! I hope Book 2 is on the way.
