Lame is the only word that can closely describe the atrocities that ensues. This prequel is nothing more than another attempt to cash in on the "popularity" of the "Mummy" series, or at least make believe so. The acting is horrendously terrible, the special effects are, at best, abysmal, the script contains as much plot holes as the moon is covered with craters. Nothing makes sense and even the "added value" of Russell Mulcahy (Highlander, Resident Evil: Extinction) would make one think such a name would bring at least an estethic value... well guess again and don't expect much more from a movie that cannot be more than a long pilot episode which has the likes of "Xena" or other "Hercules", minus the fun.
True, the women are beautiful and the costumes suggestive enough (both female and male, mind you), but anything that tries to go further than the movie's budget is met with a destined failure. One that resonates with much importance since the studio is known for giving birth to major classics such as "Dracula", "The Mummy", "Frankenstein" and more.
Sometimes, a bad movie is quite fun to watch as well, and this one ranks pretty high in terms of "Bad Values" I can assure you. It's like combining "300", "Gladiator", "Xena", "Hercules" and not being able to figure out an interesting storyline... a definite laugh riot!
