America's legendary Jag Panzer plays classy and focussed oldschool heavy metal with heart. Buy it and support one of that country's finest.

A little short but great sounding CD!!,
By Chris Rush - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Scourge of the Light (Audio CD)
First off,The sonic quality of this Disc is off the charts good! The song writing here is more accessible and melodic than the last one(Casting the stones).I do miss Guitar virtuoso/maestro Chris Broderick as well,How can anyone top a talent like him? But the new/old guy Christian Laseque is a fine shredder himself! The drums are out of this world awesome, this is clinic on how drums should be done on a melodic power metal disc!!!!(I wish he was my drummer!!)Tasty well timed stabs and fills, odd timing, always keeping it interesting. And amazing drum sound and tone!! Enough of that plain simplistic and endless double bass drum monotony from most power metal bands.Great vocals as usual, with good range and melody. It was a great surprise to see this new disc from JP.If you are a fan of them this is a must have!I would say this is there 3rd best, behind only Thane To The Throne, and Mechanized Warfare.Buy it and listen LOUDLY!!! American Power metal is still alive and Kicking!!!

Finally a new inspired power metal album!!,
By NIKOS MARINIAS - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: The Scourge of the Light (Audio CD)
I m tired of the cheesy power metal of our days.Probably i m too old and i cant listen to the retro/recycled power metal of Gamma Ray,Helloween,Nanowar etc.Actually, there is no real power metal in our days.OK,there are some exceptions and one of them is Jag Panzer. No fillers and no retro songs here.Only pure inspired metal with the great vocalist Harry Conklin. His voice is better than ever and he can really sing live!! |
