Not Sue Millers Best,

I like Sue Millers writing but this is not her best. Meri was most unlikeable and couldn't even bond with her first baby. Delia who wasan older woman obviously smart and attractive could not even completely get rid of her cheating husband even after he had an affair with her young daughter's best friend. The ending was completely disgusting and I am no prude! Nathan who I didn't like at the beginning came out looking better than any of the characters.

There are no likable characters in this book, and in particular I found Meri absolutely loathsome. But I still found myself unable to stop reading it, which must say something about how talented a writer Sue Miller is. The unsavory surprise towards the end is quite shocking.

I can honestly say this was not one of the best books I ever read and was actually bored through a lot of it; however, there is an interesting twist that happens that you don't really see coming that is what has kept this story on my mind since I finished the book.
