Are "Friends with Benefits" Harmful? July 1 2010
By Charlotte Stone - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
"Relevant" and "Informative" are the two words that come to mind after reading Ron Luce's newest book, Friends Without Benefits. In a time when a lie is spreading like an epidemic and leaving a massive wake of broken young hearts, it must be exposed. The book is a series of well-positioned testimonies of young people who are screaming through the text "Don't make the same mistake I did!" We no longer have to look to the older generation to hear these words, but they are coming from the mouths of teenagers who are begging those around them to flee from these destructive social norms. If you are still wondering about the effects, or if there even are any, from a "Friends with Benefits" relationship, listen to the stories of these teens who are still so young and yet have many deeply painful experiences to share.

Absolutely True June 23 2010
By Meredith Lockwood - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Friends Without Benefits is truly an awe inspiring book littered with personal stories that bring revelation without offense. When I read this book I was astonished by how much pain can result from one choice made within a relationship. But what was really encouraging were the testimonies of healing and hope that can be obtained even while facing the toughest of situations. This book is spot on. It hits every area of our relationships with the opposite sex, the temptations that we face and the ways to overcome such oppositions. I highly encourage you to read this book.

Must have if you have teens July 10 2011
By adayriddle - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is another "Teen Mania Book" and is as good as all the rest. To be honest I had never heard the term "Friends with benefits" until recently. When I heard it I was utterly and completely shocked! How could such an idea of casual sexual behavior have permeated our culture as such an astonishing rate.

This book boldly and opening addresses this topic with the full backing of the scriptures. In the pages of this book a battle is waged against this evil thinking giving our children the power and knowledge to stand against these things. It is especially helpful that there are insights written from other teens on the topic of each chapter.

Thank you Gospel Light for this review copy.

Very informative and eye opening June 28 2010
By M.L. - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
In Friends Without Benefits, Ron Luce compiles hundreds of youth's thoughts about sex - many who have had sex and many who haven't. They talk about their regrets and also their victories as well as things they wish they found out from their parents. It was eye opening to me and I would recommend this to teens and parents as parents need to see that their kids really do want to hear about sex and for teens to hear from their peers about regrets and good principles. Ron Luce gives good principles to follow to help teens on their path in purity. Two thumbs up!
A MUST READ for teens/parents/youth pastors Nov. 29 2014
By M. Elliott - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is a must-read for parents/teens. I think it could be best read together. I am a youth pastor and I understand how corny it may sound to sit and read with your pre-teen or young teen, but these are the years to help them to make better informed decisions about their sexuality before they are made impulsively on the spot. This book uses MANY student testimonials so it isn't just a parent telling their student "not to" these are students engaging students to "learn form my mistakes."
