Product Description

Album Description

There's been no free ride in Hedley's steady climb to the top. Over the four years, the Vancouver band has earned two multi-platinum albums and won acclaim and a devoted fan base through a constant regime of hard work and relentless touring. Nor is there an ounce of phoniness in the group, led by irrepressible frontman Jacob Hoggard. The band's refreshing mix of lighthearted candor and emotional honesty lies at the heart of THE SHOW MUST GO, Hedley's much anticipated third album. Working with four producers - John Feldman (The Used), Dave Genn (Matthew Good), David Bendeth (Paramore) and Brian Howes (Daughtry) - the band has pushed its robust sound forward without sacrificing any of it's disctinctive edge.

Since forming in Vancouver, B.C., naming themselves after the nearby community of Hedley when the town made news for putting itself up for sale, the band have forged an impressive track record. With two mulit-platinum albums under their belts and countless hit singles and videos Hedley continues to prove that mixing frivolity with thoughtfulness and showmanship with songcraft is the best formula for success.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hedley keeps getting better, Jun 8 2010

After their last album, I didn't think they could top it with "The Show Must Go". Man was I wrong. This album is fantastic. Almost every song on this album is amazing. I also appreciate how there was a nice diversity in the styles of the songs. You get some up beat and fast paced songs like "Cha Ching" and "Don't Talk to Strangers" while also getting some slower paced but beautiful songs like "Perfect" and "Shelter". The lyrics to each song are all great and hit on some interesting issues, like our superficial culture in "Cha Ching" and an emotional performance in "Perfect". The music it's self is also fantastic, mixing many instruments to create some great beats that really compliment the stellar vocals.

My only gripe would be two songs near the end of the album, "Friends" and "Sweater Song" were just decent. But really, the album is of such high quality that I'm just nit picking. Hedley fans should be very pleased by this album and if your not a fan, this is a perfect place to jump in and become one. Great album.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Show Must Go - The Boys Will Grow, Oct 30 2009

Chris, Dave, Jacob, & Tommy are four guys who have been the most original, creative, and down to earth people I have ever come across in my 30 years. This 3rd album of Hedley is only their third with many more to come. Hearing the clips so far, I am waiting for November 17th to hit and then for these guys to get down to Seattle. We love you! $ Cha-Ching!
