A most memorable read, Mar 1 2009
This review is from: The Slow Reign of Calamity Jane (Paperback)
This is a complex but accessible work that goes far beyond the legend of
Calamity Jane to probe with extraordinary insight and maturity the relationship of daughter to mother and mother to daughter. The pundits of
CanLit should be ashamed of themselves for letting it slip past them. This should be on the shelf beside Brossard, Marlatt & Co. and would be if meaningful funding were available outside a small circle to gifted young poets like Robinson.
